Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 goes live on November 6 as a free content update, adding three multiplayer maps, a new DMZ area called X01, two Warzone maps and a rebuilt Battle Pass, according to Activision’s post on the PlayStation Blog. Destructoid lists the platforms as PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
Activision published the full rundown on October 28, 2026. A Halloween pre-season with the Infected and Possession modes comes first, according to the publisher’s press page, and more maps and modes land in the middle of the season.
What new multiplayer maps and modes arrive on November 6?
Three maps are ready at launch. Backstab is a war torn map where abandoned tanks litter the landscape, Canyon is built around towering rock walls with a River near the Convoy Ambush and a winding Cliff Path, and Shoot House returns reimagined in the snow of North Korea.
Two modes arrive with them:
- Grind: eliminate players, recover their dog tags and carry them to the Bank to score for your team.
- Drop Zone: teams fight over a single rotating objective while Killstreak packages airdrop onto it.
The press page also lists a Gauntlet 1v1 Wager Match Event at launch. Mid-season adds Ministry, a map set in and around a damaged embassy, and Overflow, a factory surrounded by farmland. A new mode called Counter Attack asks teams to detonate bombs at the enemy Comm Station while defending their own. Activision says more maps are still to be revealed.

What is new in DMZ?
DMZ gets X01, a weapons facility that Activision describes as formerly undiscovered and now seized by enemy forces. Destructoid reports it is a high difficulty endgame area in Hajin, and Activision’s press page describes cargo bays, underground labs and a sealed Deep Vault.
Expect tunnels and shifting hazards, new equipment, and extraction points that start to close off as you play. You have to finish the required steps to escape. Ghost from the campaign guides the new DMZ Orders, and the update adds a Threat Briefing to take down the biggest bosses and Resupply Runs.
What changes in Warzone?
Warzone gets two new maps, Hajin and Zodiac, along with extra modes and gameplay features. A full Warzone roadmap has not been published yet. Activision’s press page promises a Season 1 breakdown on Monday, November 2, and Destructoid adds that every Modern Warfare 4 weapon is coming to Warzone.

Which weapons and Battle Pass rewards are included?
Two guns come through the Battle Pass: the Cronen Osprey assault rifle at tier 16 and the CSG-35 SMG at tier 36. Activision calls the Cronen Osprey quick and reliable on the front line, and says the CSG-35 has the highest fire rate in its class. The JAK 12 shotgun and the ZLR Talonhawk melee weapon arrive later as in-season event rewards, according to Destructoid.
The Battle Pass has more than 100 unlockable items. A new catch-up system guarantees 50+ rewards for buyers, and anyone who falls behind on the premium track is moved up to the reward that matches the current day of the season, up to day 50. The track itself is a linear 100-tier path with Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints and Finishing Moves. BlackCell is sold separately and also comes with the Vault Edition.
How much does Season 1 cost in Canada and the US?
Season 1 itself is a free update for players who own the game. None of the sources give a Canadian or US price for the Battle Pass or BlackCell, so check your console or PC storefront for those. Canadian availability and pricing for the base game are not covered by the sources used here.

Who it suits
Multiplayer regulars. Three launch maps, two modes and a 1v1 event give you something to rotate through right away, and Ministry and Overflow are due mid-season.
DMZ squads. X01 is built for coordinated teams: tunnels, hazards and closing extraction points reward planning, and the new Orders and Resupply Runs give a reason to return.
Warzone players. Hajin and Zodiac are the headline, but the full roadmap is still to come, so hold off on big spending until it lands.
Who should wait. If you are weighing the premium Battle Pass, wait for the price and the November 2 Warzone breakdown. The catch-up system means you do not lose earlier rewards by joining late.
What is still unknown?
Several maps and modes are marked classified, the Warzone roadmap is pending, and prices for the Battle Pass and BlackCell have not been stated in the sources. Release timing for the mid-season content is described only as mid-season.
