Funcom has announced that two of its open-world survival games are heading to PlayStation 5 in early 2027: Aloft and Conan Exiles Enhanced. The news was posted on the PlayStation Blog on October 27, 2026, and it follows the recent PS5 launch of Dune: Awakening.
No exact release dates have been given yet. Funcom says it will share dates and more details for both games later, and both can be wishlisted on PlayStation Store now.
Aloft: a cozy sandbox in the clouds
Aloft is a co-op sandbox survival game set among floating islands. Players turn an island into a skyship, build a home among the clouds and explore a colourful open world alone or with friends.
According to Funcom, the PS5 version is the complete game. It includes every update released during the Early Access period on PC, plus the 1.0 experience with new content, stories and improvements. The studio says it shipped five major content updates in Early Access, adding new wildlife, puzzles, combat improvements, glider customization and expanded exploration.
The game itself involves discovering lost knowledge, curing fungal corruption, looking after animals and riding out hurricanes while restoring the ecosystem. Aloft is developed by Astrolabe, a Montreal-based studio, and Funcom publishes it. Astrolabe’s team has spent six years on the game, according to the announcement, and this marks its console debut.
Conan Exiles Enhanced: the Exiled Lands, upgraded
Conan Exiles Enhanced is the upgraded edition of Funcom’s brutal survival game. The company lists improved environments, characters, lighting and effects, a redesigned interface, and performance and quality-of-life changes. Exploring the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah expansion is also meant to feel smoother.
The upgrade rules matter for existing owners:
- Everyone who already owns Conan Exiles on PlayStation gets the PS5 Enhanced version for free.
- Both PS4 and PS5 versions will be on sale, and buying one gives you the other at no extra cost.
- Bazaar items and DLC you have bought carry over from PS4 to PS5.
- Isle of Siptah remains a separate purchase.
The Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc will be part of the console launch, so PlayStation players get it from day one. The Enhanced update first appeared on PC. According to Insider Gaming, that version moved the game to Unreal Engine 5 and was built with Inflexion Games.
What it means for you
If you own Conan Exiles on PS4, you do not need to repurchase anything to play the PS5 edition, which is the main takeaway for current players. If you are new to the game, buying either version covers both consoles.
For Aloft, the PS5 edition arrives as the finished 1.0 game, so console players skip the Early Access wait. Prices have not been announced, and neither has Canadian or US pricing or retailer availability. Wishlisting on PlayStation Store is the simplest way to be notified when dates and prices arrive.
