Sony has introduced the Prism Collection, three see-through colours for DualSense wireless controllers and PS5 console covers. Pre-orders open on November 10, 2026, and the first launches start on February 4, 2027. The controllers carry a recommended retail price of $84.99 USD and the covers $74.99 USD.
PlayStation Blog showed off the line on October 28, 2026. The colours are Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray, and each one has a glossy finish. Canada is not named in the direct ordering list, so Canadian readers should read the price section closely.
What are the Prism DualSense controllers?
These are standard DualSense wireless controllers with a clear shell that lets you see the parts inside. According to PlayStation, the high-gloss clear finish runs across the back of the controller, and a metallic finish on the middle cover ties the surfaces together.
- Three colours: Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray
- Clear back shell that shows the technology inside
- Available globally, with the exact launch date varying by country or region
- Recommended retail price of $84.99 USD
The design team says the orange picks up a rosy hue where the clear material overlaps, while the green gains depth through its transparency.
PlayStation says the idea came from its designers’ wish to give players a closer look at the craftsmanship behind DualSense controllers and PS5 consoles, and to answer fans who have been waiting for transparent controllers to return.
What do the Prism PS5 console covers add?
The matching console covers bring the same three colours to the PS5 itself. PlayStation says they will be sold exclusively direct from PlayStation where that service exists, and in limited quantities through select retailers in other regions.
- The same three colours as the controllers
- Recommended retail price of $74.99 USD
- Direct sales only in some regions, so stock may be tight elsewhere
The blog post does not say which PS5 models the covers fit, so check that before you order.
How much does the Prism Collection cost?
PlayStation has not listed a Canadian price. The figures it published are in US dollars, yen, euros and pounds.
- DualSense controller: $84.99 USD, ¥12,480 including tax, €84.99, £74.99
- PS5 console cover: $74.99 USD, ¥9,980 including tax, €74.99, £64.99
In the United States, pre-orders open November 10, 2026 at 10:00am ET through direct.playstation.com. The same day at 10:00am local time, direct pre-orders start in the U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. PlayStation adds that actual retailer prices and availability may vary.
Pre-orders also run through participating retailers, and the exact launch date and availability for each accessory may differ by country or region. Treat the February 4, 2027 date as the start of the rollout, not a promise for every store.
Who is the Prism Collection for?
Players who like a statement setup. A clear controller and matching cover is the point of this line. If you want your console and pad to look like a pair, this is the first official option in these colours.
Canadian buyers. Canada is not on the direct ordering list and no Canadian price has been given. Plan to watch Canadian retailers rather than counting on a direct order.
Anyone who just needs a spare pad. The controller is a regular DualSense under the shell, but the recommended price is $84.99 USD, so a standard colour may be the better value if looks do not matter to you.
Collectors. The covers are limited in some regions, which makes the direct pre-order window on November 10, 2026 the safest time to try.
What is still unknown?
Canadian pricing, Canadian retailers and exact launch dates by country have not been announced. PlayStation has also not said which PS5 models the covers fit, or whether every colour reaches every region on February 4, 2027.
For the latest, check direct.playstation.com on November 10, 2026 if you are in the United States. Canadian readers should watch the Canadian PlayStation site and major retailers for listings before then.
