Phantom Blade Zero, the action RPG from developer S-GAME, launches today, October 29, 2026, on PS5 and on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The standard edition costs $59.99 on the US PlayStation Store, and Canadian pricing has not been announced in the sources we checked.

What kind of game is Phantom Blade Zero?

It is an action RPG, and the way it is being pitched is notable. A Steam News item this week framed it as a game for people tired of Soulslikes, with the developer saying players should “have fun, unwind” rather than brace for punishment. That is a pointed message in a genre where difficulty is often the main selling point.

S-GAME released an official launch trailer on October 22, 2026. According to KeenGamer, the trailer closes on the three boxed editions planned for PS5.

When can you play it, and on what?

The digital release date is October 29, 2026. Platforms are PS5, PC through Steam and PC through the Epic Games Store. Allthings.how reported that the date moved from an earlier September 9, 2026 target.

Pre-loading opened ahead of launch: October 27 in Beijing time, or October 26 in the Americas, according to KeenGamer. That helped anyone with a slow connection start on day one.

Xbox Series X and S versions have not been confirmed. Allthings.how reported a 12 month console exclusivity clause for the PS5 version, which would put any Xbox release no earlier than October 2027, but treat that as a report rather than an official statement.

How much does it cost in Canada and the US?

Here are the digital prices reported for the US PlayStation Store:

  • Standard Edition: $59.99 USD, the full game.
  • Digital Deluxe Edition: $69.99 USD, adding two exclusive outfits, a digital artbook and the digital soundtrack.

Pre-orders came with a bonus, an early unlock of the Treasure Basin accessory and the Legacy outfit. KeenGamer notes these items also unlock through normal progression, so skipping the pre-order costs you time, not content.

Canadian prices in CAD were not given in either source. Canadian players should check the PlayStation Store, Steam and Epic listings in their own region before buying, since those pages will show the final amount at checkout.

The PS5 listing is marked “PS5 Pro Enhanced”, according to KeenGamer, though the sources do not say what the enhancements are.

Is there a physical edition?

Yes, but not yet. Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate editions are planned for PS5 in 2027. The Ultimate Edition includes a collectible steel case. No release month, price or retailer has been announced, and the sources do not list what else the Deluxe and Ultimate boxes contain.

So for now, buying at launch means buying digitally. If you prefer discs and a shelf copy, 2027 is the earliest window, and there is no Canadian or US retailer information yet.

Who it suits

Players who bounced off Soulslikes. If punishing difficulty put you off, the developer’s own pitch is aimed squarely at you, though the sources do not describe difficulty settings, so check early reviews first.

PC players. The game is on both Steam and Epic, so you can pick the storefront you already use. PC system requirements were not included in the sources we read.

PS5 and PS5 Pro owners. The PS5 version is available digitally today, with the Pro Enhanced label on the listing.

Collectors. Wait for the 2027 boxed editions and their pricing, especially if the steel case matters to you.

Xbox owners. There is nothing confirmed for your console, so plan on another platform or a long wait.

What is still unknown?

Canadian pricing, PC system requirements, the details of the PS5 Pro enhancements, the physical edition prices and dates, and any Xbox plans are all unconfirmed in the sources. The pre-order bonus and the Deluxe contents are clear, but performance data is not yet public.

For the final price and file size in your region, open the store page on your platform of choice. Pre-loading has already opened, so the download can start any time.
