Google’s US store lists the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) at $219.99, against a list price of $279.99 on the same product page, a $60 saving. We read the Google Store page on November 5, 2026, and prices can change at any time.

The box includes one Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd gen), so the price covers the thermostat and a first room sensor. 9to5Toys reported the same $219.99 at Amazon and called it “one of the best prices of the year”, but the Amazon bundle listings we opened were sold by a third party, so check who the seller is before you buy there.

Is the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) on sale at Google Store?

What does the 4th gen Nest thermostat do?

Google says Smart Schedule learns the temperatures you like and suggests small tweaks in the Google Home app, while Adaptive Eco looks for an energy-efficient temperature when you leave and restores comfort when you come back. It also lists natural heating and cooling, smart ventilation and Energy Shift from Nest Renew.

Google’s comparison table lists a borderless display with a 60% larger crystal lens, plus Dynamic Farsight for information you can read from across the room. System Health Monitor can send an alert if your heating and cooling system needs attention. Google says the thermostat can help save up to 31% on heating and cooling bills, which is the company’s own claim, not a tested result.

Will it work with my heating and cooling system?

Google says it works with 85% of systems. Some systems, including heating-only, cooling-only, zone-controlled and heat pump systems, require a Nest Power Connector or C wire. Google offers a compatibility check on the product page, and it is worth running before you order.

Installation is a do it yourself job, with step by step instructions in the Google Home app.

Prices

  • Google Store US: $219.99, against $279.99 listed by Google
  • Amazon US: $219.99 for the new thermostat, according to 9to5Toys, which says it is regularly $280
  • Best Buy US, open box in “excellent” condition: $175.99 for Obsidian and $158.99 for Polished Silver, according to 9to5Toys

All prices are in US dollars for the US market. We have no prices for other countries, and Google’s offer is limited to US addresses. Open box units are not new, so they are a different kind of deal.

Who it suits

Owners of an older or manual thermostat. If you want a schedule that builds itself and gentle energy saving prompts, this is the model Google markets for that job.

Households with a hot or cold room. One sensor is included, and Google says you can add up to six for more even temperatures across rooms.

Buyers with unusual heating or cooling. Heat pump, zoned and single function systems may need a Nest Power Connector or C wire, so confirm compatibility first.

Shoppers who want something simpler. Google’s comparison table shows the Nest Thermostat is not compatible with the Nest Temperature Sensor. That model is a different product, so compare it separately.

What is still unknown?

Google does not say how many units are in stock, only that the offer runs while supplies last. 9to5Toys gave no end date for the Amazon price, and we could not confirm that Amazon itself sells the bundle.

Before you order, open the Google Store page, run the compatibility check with your wiring, and compare the Amazon seller details with the Google Store price.
