The Klein Tools 93MCLG, a compact green cross-line self-leveling laser level with a 50 foot working range, is listed at $59.98 on Amazon.com, down from a $79.98 list price. PopSci called that the lowest price of 2026 when it checked Amazon on Monday morning, November 2.

Klein sells the tool as the 93MCLG Green Compact Cross-Line Self-Leveling Laser Level, 50-Foot. It runs on 2 AA batteries, comes with a soft case and has a magnetic mounting bracket that screws into a tripod mount.

Why is this laser level getting attention?

The attention comes from the price, not from a new release. According to PopSci, Amazon’s early Black Friday deals went live on November 1, new ones arrive every day and most run through the end of the month. The 93MCLG made PopSci’s list at $59.98, down from $79.98, and the article labelled it the lowest price of 2026.

The Amazon listing we checked on November 8 showed the same $59.98 with $79.98 as the list price, so the discount was still there a week into the sale. PopSci gave no end date for the deal.

What does the 93MCLG do?

It projects one horizontal and one vertical green line, which Klein says are easy to read and optimized for indoor lighting. The pendulum self-leveling system sets the lines, and the tool flashes the lasers when it is no longer level. The numbers from Klein’s page:

  • Beams: 2, green, horizontal and vertical
  • Working range: 50 feet (15.2 m)
  • Accuracy: 3/16-inch at 33 feet (10 m)
  • Runtime: over 8 hours on 2 x AA batteries
  • Protection: IP54 for water and dust, drop protection to 3.3 feet (1 m)
  • Weight: 10 oz (283 g)
  • Laser: Class 2, 1 mW or less at 508 to 530 nm

Klein says the magnetic bracket screws into an integrated 1/4-inch-20 tripod mount, and the level has a transit lock plus low battery and out-of-level indicators. The specification table is just as clear about what is missing: no plumb laser, no display, no receiver and no pulse mode.

How does it compare with other Klein levels?

Klein’s own page points to two relatives. The 93MCLS is a red version of the same compact cross-line design with a 35 foot range, and the 93PLL is a rechargeable green planar level that comes with a hard carrying case. The 93MCLG sits between them for readers who want green lines without moving to a rechargeable model. Klein also lists the 69345 aluminum tripod, which adjusts from 22 inches to 61 inches, as an accessory.

Prices

All prices are in US dollars as the sources give them, with no conversion.

  • Amazon.com on November 8, 2026: $59.98, with $79.98 shown as the list price
  • PopSci, prices checked November 2, 2026: $59.98, was $79.98, lowest price of 2026

Klein’s product page shows no price, so we use the list price from the Amazon listing and PopSci. These are prices at the time of writing, and PopSci gave no end date, so they can change at any time. We found no Canadian, British or other local price in the pages we read, so check your own Amazon store before assuming the same discount.

Who it suits

Electricians and finish carpenters. A 50 foot indoor range and accuracy of 3/16-inch at 33 feet cover most room layouts, from outlet heights to trim lines. The magnetic bracket lets you stick the level to metal studs or door frames.

Tile and cabinet installers. The two crossing lines give a horizontal reference and a vertical one at the same time. The 8 hour runtime on 2 AA batteries should last a full day of layout work, according to Klein.

Homeowners and DIY users. The soft case and the common AA batteries keep ownership simple, and the price is well under the tools in Klein’s rechargeable range. It is a sensible first laser for hanging shelves or lining up a gallery wall.

Who should wait. If you mostly work outdoors in bright light, note that Klein optimized the green lines for indoor lighting and this model has no receiver. If you need a plumb spot or a rechargeable battery, look at the 93PLL or a model with those features instead.

What is still unknown

The pages we read do not say how long the Amazon price will last, whether other countries see the same discount, or what the warranty terms are. Klein’s page lists a soft case and a mounting bracket but does not give a full box contents list beyond that.
