The Boombox 3 is JBL’s large party speaker, built around a carry handle, a 24 hour battery and an IP67 dustproof and waterproof body. We checked both pages on the day of writing. Neither page shows an end date for the Amazon price, so treat it as a price that can change at any time.
What is the JBL Boombox 3?
It is a portable Bluetooth speaker from JBL. The Amazon listing carries JBL’s own product text, and the main points are:
- Sound: new 3-way speakers, which JBL says give higher sensitivity, sharper clarity and lower distortion
- Battery: 24 hours of play time
- Protection: IP67 rating, dustproof and waterproof

JBL’s listing calls the sound “JBL Original Pro Sound”. We have not tested this unit, so everything above is the maker’s description, not our measurement.
What does JBL claim about the sound?
According to the listing, the 3-way design is meant to deliver strong bass and a rich audio spectrum without extra distortion when the volume is turned up. JBL pitches the speaker at everyday outdoor use, from an early morning workout to a late evening with friends, and the 24 hour figure is the battery claim behind that pitch.
The IP67 rating is the other headline feature. JBL says it lets you take the speaker to the pool or the park, rain or shine, which matters more for a speaker this size than for a desk model.

Who it suits
Hosts and backyard parties. A 24 hour battery and a speaker built for open spaces fit a patio, a cottage deck or a garage hangout better than a small desk speaker does.
Beach, pool and camping trips. The IP67 rating, according to JBL, covers dust and water, so spray and rain are less of a worry. Check the rating wording on the listing before you take it near water.
Owners of other JBL speakers. PartyBoost lets you pair two compatible JBL speakers for stereo sound or link several, so a second speaker you already own can join in.
Who should skip it. If you want a speaker small enough for a bag or a bike, a compact model such as the JBL Clip 5 is a better match. This one is built to be carried by its handle.
What is still unknown
The Amazon page does not say how long the price will last or whether there is a limit per customer. The sources we read do not list the weight, the battery capacity or the charging time, so check the specification block on the listing before you order. The page we checked on Amazon.ca was the black model, and JBL also sells a Squad camouflage version on its own store, so confirm the colour in your cart.
