Sony Interactive Entertainment has delayed the launch of its Pulse Elevate wireless speakers, which were due on November 12, 2026, after finding a production issue during quality testing. The company has not given a new date and says only that it looks forward to bringing the speakers to players soon.
The notice went up on the PlayStation Blog on November 6, 2026, signed by Edwin Foo, Vice President of Product Development at SIE. It sits at the top of the original Pulse Elevate announcement, ahead of the August update that set the November launch.
What did PlayStation say about the delay?
The update says the company found the problem during what it calls ongoing quality testing, and that it “made the decision to delay the launch” to make sure the product delivers the experience it intended. SIE apologizes for the delay and thanks players for their patience.
The post does not describe what the production issue is, how many units are affected or when a new date will arrive. It also says nothing about how pre-orders will be handled.

What was the original launch plan?
The August 18, 2026 update gave a clear plan, and none of it has been restated since the delay:
- Launch date: November 12, 2026, with availability varying by market and retailer
- Colors: Midnight Black and White
- Recommended retail price, including tax: $219.99 USD, €219.99, £199.99 and ¥37,980 JPY
- Midnight Black: global availability at direct.playstation.com and participating retailers
- White: exclusive to the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Portugal at direct.playstation.com, with select retailers in other regions
- Pre-orders: scheduled to open September 1, 2026 at 10am local time

What are the Pulse Elevate speakers?
Pulse Elevate is the first wireless speaker set developed by SIE, aimed at desktop gaming with a PS5, PC or Mac and at travel with a PlayStation Portal remote player or a phone. Based on the official post, the main features are:
- Planar magnetic drivers in each speaker, plus built-in woofers
- A microphone in the right speaker with noise rejection, for voice chat without a headset
- PlayStation Link for low latency, lossless wireless audio, with a USB-C adapter included
- Bluetooth, so a second device can play music or chat while the game audio comes over PlayStation Link
- A rechargeable battery and included charging docks
- EQ, volume and mic mute settings on PS5 through system menus, with PC options after launch
Engadget noted at the August announcement that Sony had not yet published full specs or a battery life figure beyond saying the speakers play for hours.
Prices
No price change has been announced. The only official figures are the August recommended prices above: $219.99 USD, €219.99, £199.99 and ¥37,980 JPY, each including tax. Because there is no new launch date, there is also no confirmed price for a new date, and no source says whether regions or colors will change.

Who it suits
PS5 owners with a desk setup. The speakers target players who want better sound than a TV or monitor without wearing a headset, with a built-in mic for chat.
PlayStation Portal owners. The battery and PlayStation Link support are meant for use away from the desk.
Anyone who ordered one. The post gives no pre-order instructions, so check with the store where you ordered or with PlayStation Direct for the status of your order.
Who should wait. Holiday shoppers. With no date and no description of the fix, it would be risky to plan this as a gift.

What is still unknown
Sony has not said what the production issue is, when the speakers will ship or whether the price, colors or regions will change. It has also not said how pre-orders will be handled.
Next step
Watch the Pulse Elevate post on the PlayStation Blog, where SIE says any further news will appear, and check your retailer’s order page if you pre-ordered.
