FromSoftware has moved The Duskbloods from 2026 to 2027, with no month or day given. The studio announced the change on October 29, 2026, and the game remains a Switch 2 exclusive.

According to FromSoftware’s statement, the extra time is for “final adjustments to game rules and balancing.” The studio also apologized to players who have been waiting.

What did FromSoftware say about the delay?

The statement, reported by Gematsu and Nintendo Life, says development is at its final adjustment stage. FromSoftware says the network test showed “active interest” in combat, strategic depth and player expression, and it wants more time to strengthen those areas.

Here is what is confirmed:

  • The launch window moves from 2026 to 2027
  • No exact date has been given
  • The reason is rule changes and balancing, not a technical cancellation
  • FromSoftware thanked players for their patience and support

Nintendo Life added some background: the August network test had frequent crashes and many players could not connect, while later tests went better. FromSoftware’s statement does not mention those problems directly.

What kind of game is The Duskbloods?

Nintendo describes it as a multiplayer action game from the creators of Elden Ring. Players are supernatural Bloodsworn who fight in online battles for up to eight players, forming shifting alliances and rivalries while competing for First Blood. Gematsu calls it a player-versus-player-versus-environment game.

Nintendo Life says it was first shown at the Switch 2 unveiling Direct, and the game is listed for one player locally with eight online. Nintendo Life lists FromSoftware as developer and publisher, and files the game under Action and Adventure.

What does the delay change for Canada and the US?

The sources give a single 2027 window and do not separate Canada, the US or any other region, so there is no regional date to plan around. Nintendo Life points out that its own game listing still showed a 2026 release date, which is outdated, and says it will watch for a more precise date as the new year begins. Until FromSoftware or Nintendo names one, the safest reading is simply that the game will not arrive in 2026.

Prices

No price has been announced for The Duskbloods in Canada, the US or anywhere else, and none of the pages we read gives one. Nintendo’s store listing is a digital edition, and its online features require a Nintendo Switch Online membership and a Nintendo Account, which Nintendo sells separately. When we checked, the Nintendo Canada listing still showed 2026, so expect it to change.

Who it suits

Players who already own a Switch 2 are the only audience for now. The Duskbloods is described as exclusive to that console, and no other version has been announced.

Fans of FromSoftware’s action games should read this as a longer wait for something built around online competition. The game is not a single-player adventure, so the usual solo approach will not carry over.

Anyone who joined the network test has a reason to feel reassured. FromSoftware says feedback pointed to interest in the combat and the strategy, and it is using the delay to work on exactly those areas.

Anyone planning a holiday purchase should leave it off the list. A 2027 window means it will not arrive in 2026, and without a date there is nothing to pre-order or budget for yet.

What we do not know yet

FromSoftware has not said which part of 2027, whether the problems reported during the August test have been fixed, whether more network tests will be held, or what the price will be. The studio also has not said whether a Canadian release will differ from other regions.

The next useful step is to watch FromSoftware’s and Nintendo’s official channels for a date, and to check the Nintendo Canada store page before you plan around the old 2026 window.
