The DEWALT 20V MAX XR Brushless 1/2-in Hammer Drill (model DCD806B, tool only) is listed at $118.98 at Amazon, down from $199, in a Bob Vila roundup of early Black Friday DeWalt deals published on November 2, 2026. DEWALT’s own page lists no price, and the battery and charger are sold separately, so this is a price for the bare drill.

DEWALT calls the DCD806 its most powerful 20V MAX 2-speed drill. It comes with a 3-year limited warranty, and the same Bob Vila list also carries cordless saws, impact drivers and combo kits, which makes the hammer drill one of many DeWalt tools in the early sales.

What does the DCD806B offer?

DEWALT’s page gives these specs:

  • 20V MAX XR brushless motor
  • Variable-speed trigger with 2 speeds: 0-650 and 0-2,000 rpm, no load
  • 1/2-in metal ratcheting chuck
  • Integrated hammer mode and high-speed transmission
  • Integrated 3-position LED worklight of 70 lumens, with auto-shutoff
  • Power rating of 1050 MWO
  • Belt hook included

The page does not list the tool’s length, its weight or a torque figure, so compare those with a store or manual before you buy.

What does DEWALT claim?

These are the maker’s claims, not independent test results. DEWALT says the drill is up to 109% more powerful than its DCD777 drill driver, based on rated MWO with the DCB2104 battery. It also claims up to 25% more power than a Milwaukee model in its own comparison, and up to 175 holes per charge, measured with a 7/8-in auger bit, the DCB2104 battery and 1-1/2-in SPF lumber.

The drill has an ANTI-ROTATION system that shuts the tool off when it senses excessive rotational motion and shows a red LED. It is also TOOL CONNECT Chip-Ready, which works with the DEWALT Site Manager app, but the chip is sold separately.

Why is it on shopping lists now?

Early Black Friday lists are circulating and DeWalt tools fill them. Bob Vila’s Amazon list has dozens of entries. Within it, the DCD806 is $118.98, down from $199, and a second hammer drill, the DCD1007, is $145.99, down from $249. The same list has a DeWalt 20V MAX Drill and Impact Driver Kit at $129, down from $239.

Bob Vila gives no start or end date for the sale and does not say whether the dollar prices are for a specific country. Amazon’s listing for this drill is titled as the tool only version.

Prices

  • DEWALT page: no price listed.
  • Bob Vila, Amazon: $118.98 now, $199 before, for the DCD806.

These are dollar prices at the time of writing, as Bob Vila lists them. They can change at any time, and the sources give no price for Canada or any other country.

What else do you need?

DEWALT’s page says the battery and charger are not included, and its ratings are based on the DCB2104 battery. If you already own 20V MAX batteries, the bare drill is the cheapest way in. Amazon also lists a DCD806H1 kit that its title describes as including a 5AH battery and charger, but the sources give no price for it. A 5.0 Ah battery 2-pack (DCB205-2c) is also listed.

Who it suits

Owners of DEWALT 20V MAX batteries. The drill is tool only, so it makes the most sense if you already have batteries and a charger.

Renovators and DIY users. A 1/2-in chuck, 2 speeds and an integrated hammer mode cover drilling and driving in one tool.

Crews that track tools. The Chip-Ready design works with the Site Manager app once you add the separate chip.

Who should wait. If you have no DEWALT batteries, the full cost includes a battery and charger, and the sale price does not cover them. Also wait if you need the weight or torque figure, which DEWALT’s page does not list.

What is still unknown

The sources do not say when the Amazon price ends or whether it applies outside the country Amazon lists it in. Check the live listing, then read DEWALT’s product page for the full feature list.
