Apple’s first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, arrived at Apple Store locations worldwide on Friday, October 23. According to Apple, customers filled stores for hands-on demos, and executives including John Ternus and Deirdre O’Brien greeted shoppers at Apple Domain NORTHSIDE in Austin, Texas.
Price and models in Canada
Canadian pre-orders opened on October 16, and iPhone in Canada reports that deliveries and in-store pickup begin on October 23. The Canadian prices, before taxes, are $2,999 for 256GB, $3,299 for 512GB, $3,899 for 1TB and $4,799 for 2TB. The phone comes in Star White and Night Sky. Apple also advertises financing from $124.96 per month over 24 months, subject to approval, and trade-in credits for eligible devices.
Readers in the United States should check apple.com for US pricing, because the sources used here do not state a US price.
What you get
The iPhone Duo has a 5.4-inch outer screen and a 7.6-inch inner screen that opens like a book. Daily Hive reports that the inner display has a nano-texture finish and a hidden under-display selfie camera. The phone runs on the A20 Pro chip and supports eSIM only, so there is no physical SIM slot.
On the back there are two 48MP cameras, a primary sensor and an ultrawide. Daily Hive says the main camera matches the one in the iPhone 18 Pro and offers 2x zoom shots at 12MP-equivalent quality. The frame is grade five titanium and the front display uses Ceramic Shield 2. Unlocking works with Touch ID or an Apple Watch.
Daily Hive also lists battery claims of up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display and up to 44 hours on the outer display, with fast charging to about 50% in roughly 20 minutes by cable or about 30 minutes wirelessly. Apple Pencil support is expected later this year.
Accessories and store services
Two cases are listed at launch: a Folio case with an integrated kickstand and a two-part Duo Case. Apple says stores also offer Personal Setup to move data from an old phone, plus Today at Apple sessions such as “Say Hello to iPhone Duo” and a session on what is new in iOS 27.
What it means for buyers
At $2,999 for the base model, the iPhone Duo sits well above most phones sold in Canada, so it mainly suits buyers who want a larger inner screen and are comfortable with a first-generation design. If you are curious, try one in a store first, since hands-on demos are available. Check that your carrier supports eSIM before you commit, because there is no SIM tray. Canadian carrier deals were not detailed in the sources, so ask your carrier directly for current offers.
Prices and availability can change, so confirm details on Apple Canada’s website or in the Apple Store app before you buy.
