Apple has announced two more American suppliers behind its newest phones. In a press release on October 20, 2026, the company said Pennsylvania titanium producer Perryman Company will supply titanium for products including iPhone Duo, and that it is expanding its work with Delaware based Qnity Electronics on camera technology for iPhone 18 Pro.
Both deals fall under Apple’s American Manufacturing Program, which the company launched last year as part of a $600 billion, four year commitment to manufacturing and innovation in the United States.
Titanium for the first foldable iPhone
iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable iPhone, uses a grade 5 titanium enclosure. Apple says it will commit up to $100 million over the next three years with Perryman, a family owned business. At its site in Houston, Pennsylvania, Perryman melts, forges and rolls titanium with a minimum of 80 percent recycled content for the phone, according to Apple.
The parts behind the iPhone 18 Pro camera
Qnity joined the program in March. It will now produce advanced films that Apple describes as essential to the variable aperture system in iPhone 18 Pro. Variable aperture sits at the heart of the new 48MP Fusion Main camera and lets the camera adjust how much light comes in, letting in more for dark scenes and helping keep detail sharp in bright ones, Apple says.
Apple chief operating officer Sabih Khan said “American ingenuity is vital to all our products” in the announcement.
Other suppliers in the lineup
Apple says nearly 100 components in iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro, from wireless chips to key silicon, come from American companies in more than a dozen states. The release also gave updates on several existing partners:
- Broadcom is expanding its Fort Collins, Colorado, plant under a $1.5 billion investment announced in July, with the deal set to produce more than 15 billion U.S. made chips.
- Corning, an Apple partner since the original iPhone in 2007, makes Ceramic Shield glass in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. By the end of 2026, all cover glass for iPhone and Apple Watch sold worldwide will come from this plant, Apple says.
- Coherent supplies laser technology from Sherman, Texas, used for Face ID and the redesigned Dynamic Island on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
- TSMC in Arizona is producing more than 100 million chips for Apple in 2026.
- Amkor Technology broke ground on a packaging and test plant in Peoria, Arizona, in September 2025. Apple will be one of its first customers.
What it means for you
Nothing changes about how you buy or use these phones: prices, models and availability stay as announced. The news is mostly about where key parts come from. For buyers who care about materials, the titanium detail is the most concrete point, since Apple says the iPhone Duo enclosure uses metal with at least 80 percent recycled content.
Apple also repeated that all of its direct suppliers must power their Apple manufacturing with renewable energy by the end of this decade, part of its goal to be carbon neutral across its footprint by 2030. MacRumors noted that Apple separately confirmed Mac mini assembly at a facility in Houston, Texas, is due to begin later this year.
