Xbox has lined up a new round of Free Play Days, and this one has something for subscribers and non-subscribers alike. Three games are free for Game Pass members until Sunday, October 25, and three more are open to every Xbox player for a limited time.
Free for Game Pass members
According to Xbox Wire, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, Reloaded Edition, Let’s Build a Zoo and Tropico 6 can be played from Thursday, October 22 until Sunday, October 25 by members of Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential.
Xbox says Dying Light 2 is also discounted by 80% for a limited time. Let’s Build a Zoo is offered at up to 65% off, including its Dinosaur Island and Aquarium Odyssey add-ons. Tropico 6 is 75% off the base game, with up to 60% off its add-ons until November 2. Xbox notes that Tropico 7 launches on January 28, so this is a chance to try the previous game first.
Open to everyone
No subscription is needed for the next three titles. Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin each come with a three-hour timed trial. Riders Republic is free to try on Xbox from October 22 until October 26.
Ubisoft says the free weekend is part of the fifth anniversary of Riders Republic, which has welcomed more than 17 million players according to the publisher. Progress carries over if you buy the game afterward. Ubisoft also lists an Xbox sale of up to 80% off through November 4, and says the game arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 9.
How to start playing
Xbox says to find each game on its details page on Xbox.com, which sends you to the Microsoft Store, where you must be signed in to see the install option. On console, open the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store and scroll down to the Free Play Days collection on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. If you buy a game later, the Gamerscore and achievements you earned during the event are kept.
What it means for readers
The Game Pass titles are only available until Sunday, so anyone with a membership has just a few days to try them. Players in Canada and the United States who do not subscribe can still sample Riders Republic and the two Monster Hunter Stories games. The sources do not give Canadian pricing, and Xbox says discounts, percentages and title availability may vary by title and region, so check the store page before you buy.
