Solar Arc: Golden Hour Tracker, an iPhone app that shows sunrise, sunset, golden hour and moon times, is listed as free on the App Store. The site New Mobile Life reports that the original price was US $0.99 and calls the offer a limited time one.
The app comes from Spruzzo Labs Inc. and says it works fully offline, with no account, no ads and no tracking. Both the App Store listing and the developer’s own website show it as free at the time of writing.
What does Solar Arc do?
Solar Arc is a sun and moon tracker built around colour. Its main view is a gradient line that paints the whole day: dawn amber, midday blue, sunset orange and deep navy night. You can read exact times or simply glance at the colour to see where the day stands.
A second view draws the sun and moon as an arc that moves across a live gradient. Dragging a finger along the arc scrubs through the day, and the sky, times and numbers all follow. You can look at the sun alone, the moon alone or both together.
The moon gets proper attention too. The arc shows tonight’s moon with the correct phase shape, along with moonrise, moonset and illumination, so you can plan around a full moon or catch a crescent at dusk.

Which features are included?
The listing names these features:
- Golden hour and blue hour timing, down to the minute
- Live gradient line and arc views, with drag to scrub through any moment of the day
- Sun view, moon view or dual view
- Moonrise, moonset, phase and illumination
- A 52-week forecast for any date in the next year
- Five activity modes: photography, hiking, screens, gardening and stargazing
- Seven Home Screen widgets: sun and moon, line and arc, medium and large
- Notifications for sunrise, sunset and golden hour
- Multiple saved locations with automatic timezone handling
- Calculations built on NOAA solar and Meeus lunar algorithms
The app is available in English plus 11 more languages, including French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. It is a small download at 6.1 MB and requires iOS 18.4 or later on iPhone.

Prices
The App Store listing shows Solar Arc as Free. New Mobile Life puts the original price at US $0.99 and says the app is free for a limited time. Neither the listing nor the tip article gives an end date for the free price, so there is no deadline to quote.
The developer’s version notes add useful context. They say everything in Solar Arc is now included: all seven widgets, the full 52-week forecast, unlimited saved places, all five modes and golden hour alerts, with no in-app purchases. People who bought Solar Arc Pro or downloaded early keep everything. An earlier release had put six of the seven widgets behind Pro, and anyone who downloaded on or before September 5, 2026 already had it all free.
The prices above are those shown in the US App Store listing. Other country stores may show something different, so check yours before you tap Get.

Who it suits
Photographers. The app lists golden hour and blue hour timing down to the minute, which helps if you want to be in position before the light turns warm. The photography mode and the forecast let you check a shoot days or weeks ahead.
Hikers and outdoor planners. The listing says the hiking mode shows the best trail windows and how much daylight is left, so you know when to turn around. The 52-week forecast helps when you plan a trip months out.
Gardeners and stargazers. Gardening mode reports how many sun hours your plants get today, while stargazing mode shows when true darkness begins. The moon view adds phase and illumination for planning a clear night.
Anyone who wants a private tool. The developer states that it does not collect any data from the app, and that there is no account to create. Apple notes that this privacy information is supplied by the developer and has not been verified by Apple.

What is still unknown?
Neither source says how long the app will stay free or whether the US $0.99 price will return. The developer’s own notes read as a move to include everything for everyone, but they do not say the change is permanent. On the App Store, the app has a 4.6 rating from 30 ratings, which is a small sample.

How do you get it?
Open the Solar Arc: Golden Hour Tracker page on the App Store, either through the developer’s website or by searching the app name and the developer, Spruzzo Labs Inc. Check that the button says Get and the price shows as Free before you confirm the download. If it shows a price, the offer has ended in your store.
