Greenworks Commercial has unveiled an all-new Optimus UTV built on a 400V system, with a 19 kWh lithium-ion battery and a claimed 110 HP-equivalent peak power. The company announced it on October 20, 2026 at Equip Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky, but has not given a price or a release date.
Pro Tool Reviews followed with a detailed look, noting this is a big step up from the brand’s existing 82V utility vehicles. Greenworks CEO Yin Chen said the company is “pushing battery power beyond what the industry expects.”
What are the key specs?
These are Greenworks Commercial’s own figures from its announcement.
- 400V system with a 19 kWh lithium-ion battery
- 110 HP-equivalent peak power from dual motors with all-wheel drive
- Top speed of 40 MPH and up to 68 miles of range in typical conditions
- Towing capacity of 2,500 lb and cargo capacity of 1,300 lb
- Ground clearance of 11 in., independent suspension and oversized all-terrain tires
- A 6,000 lb winch, torque vectoring and multiple terrain modes
Greenworks Commercial says the dual motors and all-wheel drive are meant to give the vehicle both power and control on varied ground, and the terrain modes let the driver adjust the driving behaviour to the landscape. The independent suspension is there for control and ride comfort, according to Pro Tool Reviews.

How does it compare with the 82V models?
Pro Tool Reviews lines the new model up against the Greenworks Commercial U800, the strongest 82V utility vehicle, using Greenworks’ stated figures.
| Optimus UTV (400V) | U800 (82V) | |
|---|---|---|
| Peak power | 110 HP-equivalent | 31 peak HP |
| Towing | 2,500 lb | 1,500 lb |
| Payload | 1,300 lb | 1,000 lb |
| Range | up to 68 miles | 75 miles |
| Ground clearance | 11 in. | 12.2 inches |
The new model trades a little range and clearance for much more power and capacity. Pro Tool Reviews suggests the lower range may come from added vehicle weight, though Greenworks has not said so.
Prices
Greenworks Commercial has not announced a price or a ship date for the Optimus UTV, and the announcement does not say which markets will get it first.
For scale only, the Greenworks Commercial store currently lists the 82V Utility Vehicle 800 at $28,999.99 and the Commercial Work Utility Vehicle CU400W at $17,999.99. Those are existing 82V models, and they are not a guide to what the new vehicle will cost.
Who it suits
Landscaping and grounds crews. A 2,500 lb tow rating and 1,300 lb of cargo room is aimed at crews hauling trailers, materials and equipment. Pro Tool Reviews calls it a true gas replacement for demanding commercial work.
Property and maintenance managers. The 68 miles of claimed range in typical conditions should cover a large site, but you will want real-world numbers with a loaded bed before you commit.
Owners of the 82V line. The Optimus UTV runs on its own internal 400V battery, in the way the OptimusZ zero-turn mowers do, so it will not share the 82V packs that power the rest of the Optimus tools.
Buyers cross-shopping gas UTVs. Pro Tool Reviews says the specs match models from brands such as Polaris and John Deere, but it also says it is hard to recommend without a price.
What is still unknown?
Greenworks has not said how many seats the UTV has, how it charges, how long a charge takes, or when it will go on sale. The company showed units at its booths and in the UTV driving area at the show, so readers who attended were able to see it in person, but the announcement carries no ordering details.
Pro Tool Reviews says it will update its page as more information arrives, and that it is hard to judge the vehicle fully until pricing and availability are known.
