Permanent outdoor lights, the small LED pods that stay mounted under the eaves all year, are one of the smart home buys people look at in late October, before ladders get icy and holiday decorating starts. One of the most visible kits in Canada is Govee’s Permanent Outdoor Lights 2, sold in a 100ft version, model H705E.
Price in Canada and the US
Govee Canada lists the 100ft kit at $399.99 on its own store. During Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days in early October, iPhone in Canada reported it at $259.99 on Amazon.ca, down 35% from $399.99. That sale was set to end on October 7, so check today’s price before you buy, and treat any lower price as a temporary deal.
In the US, Dealnews reported the same 100ft kit on Amazon at $190 with Prime, against a $330 list price. That deal has also expired.

What you get
According to Govee:
- 72 RGBWIC lights on a 100ft string, with 50ft and 150ft versions also sold
- 40 lumens per light, which Govee says is 55% brighter than the original model
- a 36V, 72W power supply
- IP67 water resistance for the lights, and IP65 for the control box and power adapter
- 100 preset scene modes, plus custom and AI generated effects
- control through the Govee Home app, Alexa, Google Assistant and Matter
- a rated lifespan of up to 50,000 hours
Best Buy Canada’s listing gives an operating range of -20°C to 60°C. The lights mount with VHB adhesive and clips that come in the box.

What to check before you buy
The string cannot be cut, so measure your roofline first and pick the length that fits. Govee allows up to 9 light sections and 4 extension cables, and the total length cannot go past 150ft. Plan where the adapter will plug in, since you need an outdoor outlet near the start of the run.
The cold rating matters here. If your winter nights regularly drop below -20°C, keep that limit in mind, because it is the lowest temperature the listing covers. Govee’s own store also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Who it suits, and who should skip it
It suits homeowners who want lights for Halloween, Christmas and other holidays, plus team colours on game nights, without climbing a ladder every season. Because the pods stay up all year, the app and scene modes do the work that used to mean hanging new strings each December.
Renters, people with no outdoor outlet near the roofline, and anyone who only decorates for a few weeks a year may be better served by ordinary plug in string lights, which cost less and come down in January. If you want a shorter run first, the 50ft version is the cheaper way to try the system.
