Yomawari: The Long Night Collection and Yomawari: Lost in the Dark are on sale for PlayStation 5 in the West from November 5, according to the launch announcement posted on Steam News. Both games reached PS5 in Japan earlier this year, with Lost in the Dark on March 12 and the collection on May 14, as Gematsu reported.
The Yomawari series is Japanese horror where you play a small girl walking through a town at night. You do not fight the ghosts. You sneak, hide and use whatever is lying around to get past them. NIS America publishes both PS5 releases.
What is inside The Long Night Collection?
The collection bundles two earlier games in one package, so it works as the way into the series for anyone who has never played it.
- Yomawari: Night Alone, in which a young girl goes searching for her sister
- Yomawari: Midnight Shadows, which follows the schoolgirls Yui and Haru
- Searching for hidden items to unlock story events or to interact with spirits
- Ghosts based on Japanese urban legends
- Stealth play: sneaking, hiding in bushes and distracting enemies with items
The collection first arrived on Switch in 2018, so the PS5 version is the first time many PlayStation owners can play both games together.

What is new in Lost in the Dark?
Lost in the Dark is a standalone release with its own story, so you do not need the other two games first. A girl has to explore her town at night to recover lost memories and break a curse, while avoiding ghosts.
- The first customizable character appearance in the series: hairstyle, hair color, clothes and accessories
- A flashlight that reveals secrets in the dark
- A heartbeat that helps you detect ghosts nearby
- A mechanic where closing her eyes helps avoid the gaze of spirits
It first came out in 2022 on PS4, Switch and PC through Steam, and the PS5 version is the newest way to play it.

How much does it cost on PS5?
None of the sources we read lists a PS5 price for either game, and prices are set per country in each PlayStation Store. RPG Site reported that pre-orders were open ahead of launch but gave no price.
The only price we can state is for another platform. The Steam page for Lost in the Dark lists the PC version at $39.99 in US dollars. That is a PC price and should not be read as the PS5 price. For the PS5 versions, check the PlayStation Store in your own country, or NIS America’s own store listing, before buying.

Who is it for?
Horror fans who prefer tension to combat. The games are about hiding, listening and timing your moves. If you enjoy being afraid of the dark rather than shooting your way out of it, this is the appeal.
Players who skipped the earlier releases. The collection puts Night Alone and Midnight Shadows together, and Lost in the Dark was out on other systems before this. PS5 is now an option for people who only own that console.
Newcomers who want one place to start. Lost in the Dark is described as a standalone release, so it is an easy first step. The collection suits anyone who then wants more of the same style across two stories.
Anyone sensitive to scary themes. The ghosts come from urban legends and the games are built to unsettle. Think about whether that is what you want from an evening.

What is still unknown?
The sources do not state PS5 prices, whether a physical edition exists, how the PS5 versions differ in performance from the older ones, or what the trophy lists look like.
For now, the practical step is to open the PlayStation Store listing for each title in your country and compare the price with the Steam figure above if you also own a gaming PC. NIS America’s official pages are the place to watch for physical editions.
