Idle Slayer, the pixel art idle clicker from developer Pablo Leban, now supports Linux and macOS on Steam. GamingOnLinux reported the change on October 30, 2026, and says the developer announced the new platforms on October 22.
The Steam page lists the game as free to play and shows Windows, macOS and SteamOS plus Linux versions. Idle Slayer first reached Steam in December 2020, so this is the first time the game has been offered natively beyond Windows on that store.
What does Idle Slayer play like?
It mixes idle and clicker mechanics with a runner. The Steam description says you jump, collect coins and defeat enemies, and slowly grow stronger. Along the way you earn Souls to strengthen your Slayer, unlock abilities and discover mechanics that change how you play.
GamingOnLinux adds a few details:
- Mini games with special rewards
- Over 650 achievements
- A large skill tree and multiple progression systems
- Offline gameplay and regular updates
The reviewer tested the native Linux build on Fedora KDE 45 and said it worked without issues. He also noted that it is more of a clicker than a pure idle game, because it needs direct interaction, and that it opens up quickly in the first hour or two.

What do you need to run it?
Steam lists these requirements for the new platforms:
- macOS: macOS 12 (Monterey) or later, a 2 GHz or faster processor (Apple silicon or Intel), 1 GB of RAM, dedicated graphics memory and a small storage footprint
- Linux: a recent Ubuntu release, or SteamOS
- Windows: Windows 10 or 11, a 2 GHz or faster processor, 1 GB of RAM, dedicated graphics memory and a small storage footprint
GamingOnLinux also says you can take the game on the go on mobile or on a Steam Deck.

Prices
Steam lists Idle Slayer as free to play, so there is no purchase price in Canada or the United States. The store page does show in-app purchases, so check what you are buying inside the game. Steam did not show a Canadian or US price for any paid item in the information we reviewed.

Who it suits
Mac owners who wanted a native build. If you have a Mac running macOS 12 or later, you can now install it from Steam without workarounds. The memory and storage needs are modest.
Linux and Steam Deck players. The Linux listing names a recent Ubuntu release and SteamOS, and GamingOnLinux reported a smooth run on Fedora. It is a good fit for a second screen or a handheld.
Fans of incremental games. If you like watching numbers climb and upgrading a big skill tree, the loop is built for that. Expect it to need some active play, not only waiting.
Anyone cautious about spending. The game is free to start, so try it first and decide later whether the in-app purchases interest you.
What is still unknown?
The Steam listing in the information reviewed does not say whether progress syncs between platforms, and neither source gives a version number for the Linux and macOS builds. Check the Idle Slayer page on Steam for system requirements and recent updates before you install.
