Ubisoft has confirmed that no Assassin’s Creed remake is actively in development after the launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. The news came in the company’s Assassin’s Creed Fall 2026 update, posted in late October by Jean Guesdon, head of content.
The update also covers the multiplayer project codenamed Invictus, the darker project codenamed Hexe, and a New Game+ mode for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Ubisoft did not announce a new game, a release date or a price.
Are more Assassin’s Creed remakes coming?
Not at the moment. Guesdon wrote that “we currently have no other Assassin’s Creed remake actively in development,” according to Video Games Chronicle, which reported the update. He added that teams are already working on the next chapter of the series, including projects players have not heard about, with new settings and stories.
Ubisoft also said this is not a closed door. The company says it loves the idea of revisiting classic titles and will keep looking at ways to bring older games back.
- Black Flag Resynced launched on July 9 as the franchise’s first remake, built by Ubisoft Singapore
- Its final major update adds New Game+, Nightmare Mode, new rewards, finishers, trinkets and customization options
- Quality of life updates will follow over the coming months, and no further major content is planned

What is new on Invictus and Hexe?
For Invictus, Ubisoft ran a private Insiders Session with hundreds of players who tried an early prototype. Ubisoft says they liked the parkour, the vertical maps, the team play and the chance to play as different series characters. They also asked for more of the pillars that define Assassin’s Creed, and the team has been reworking the game in that direction. Invictus is still in development.
Hexe, the darker take on the series, is making steady progress, according to Ubisoft. The company said there is still work ahead and that its next major update will come in 2027.
What is coming to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
Valhalla gets New Game+ on November 5. Ubisoft says the game has passed 40 million players.
- Much of your progression carries over, with dedicated New Game+ scaling
- An optional progression mode where Gear, Runes and Masteries add to Eivor’s Power
- New runes, achievements and a stash system
- A Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe from Shadows
- Mithril, a resource for upgrading Divine Gear and runes
Full details are due in the patch notes, and Ubisoft says news for current generation consoles will follow in the coming days.

What else did Ubisoft announce?
A new Assassin’s Creed Leadership Team, led by Martin Schelling, is shaping the long term vision. Ubisoft also plans closed door workshops with community members and creators this year, and a new Community Survey is open. The live action Netflix series is nearing the end of production in Rome, with no release date announced. The series turns 20 in 2027, and Ubisoft says that year will bring reveals, updates, rewards and community events.
Prices
None is listed. Ubisoft’s update gives no Canadian or US prices, and Valhalla New Game+ is described as an update with no price stated. If you want to check what a game costs, use the official store listing for your platform.

Who it suits
Fans waiting for another remake. The answer for now is no, though Ubisoft says it may revisit classics later. Black Flag Resynced is the only remake and it has reached the end of its major content.
Valhalla players. If you stopped after the story, New Game+ on November 5 is the reason to reinstall. Check the patch notes for how progression carries over before you start.
Multiplayer and horror fans. Invictus has no date and is still changing, and Hexe will not get a major update until 2027. Treat anything you read online about either as unconfirmed, as Ubisoft itself warns.
Canadian and US players. The update does not mention regional dates or prices, so expect the usual platform storefronts to carry details once the patch notes are out.
What is still unknown?
Ubisoft has not said what the unannounced projects are, when Invictus will be tested again, or when Hexe will release. Read the full update on Ubisoft’s news site and watch the Valhalla patch notes for the New Game+ details.
