Rayman Legends Retold arrives on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro on December 3, and the PS5 version includes an Astro Bot costume that costs nothing extra. According to Ubisoft, players get the outfit for free on their first visit to Victor Velour, the game’s resident tailor, at his costume shop.
The costume closes a loop. Rayman made a cameo in Astro Bot (2024), and now the Captain of the Bots shows up in Rayman’s game. PlayStation Blog published the details on October 28, 2026, along with a short interview with two Ubisoft artists.
What do you get with the Astro Bot costume?
The costume is a PS5 extra, and the sources give these facts:
- Platform: PS5-exclusive, in the PS5 and PS5 Pro versions of the game
- Cost: free, claimed on your first visit to Victor Velour’s costume shop
- Made by: Ubisoft Milan, Ubisoft Montpellier and Team Asobi, working together again after the Astro Bot cameo
- Look: glossy white surfaces, reflective metallic parts and glowing blue elements, fitted to Rayman’s large nose, missing arms and legs, and big shoes

How did the artists turn Rayman into Astro Bot?
Quentin Chaillet, Lead Character Artist, said the hardest part was bringing a sleek, futuristic look into a world that is normally handcrafted and organic. The team kept as many of Astro Bot’s signature details as it could, but adapted the shapes and proportions so the result still reads as Rayman.
Guillaume Arvieu, Art and World Director, pointed to what the two series share: rich fantasy worlds with varied biomes, fluid movement, and a colourful, positive spirit. He also noted that many players first met Rayman on the original PlayStation, while Astro Bot reaches a newer generation.

What is Rayman Legends Retold?
It is a reimagining of the platformer Rayman Legends, in which Rayman and his friends try to protect the Glade of Dreams from a shadowy villain. Ubisoft describes new visuals, a retold story and a new sixth realm.
- Platforms: PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC (Ubisoft Connect, Steam, Epic Games Store), according to Ubisoft’s announcement
- Release date: December 3, 2026. Gaming.net reports it moved from October 1
- Players: solo, or up to four players in couch co-op
- Content: four new musical stages, dragon rides, the Cave of Trials and an improved Kung Foot mode
- Included: Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition comes with the standard edition
Preorder listings also mention the Hoodlum Havoc Pack, two costumes for Rayman and Globox. That is separate from the Astro Bot outfit, which Ubisoft ties to the PS5 version and to Victor Velour’s shop.

Prices
No source we read confirms a Canadian dollar price for the PS5 version. Ubisoft’s announcement gave a suggested retail price of $/€39.99 for the standard edition without naming a currency, and Gaming.net reports $39.99 on Ubisoft’s own game page. Treat that as a reference point, not a confirmed price at Canadian stores.
Amazon.ca and Amazon.com both carry a Launch Edition listing for PS5, so you can watch it for the final price.

Who it suits
PS5 owners who loved Astro Bot. If the 2024 game left you wanting more colourful platforming, the free costume is a small bonus on top of a game built around the same ideas of movement and discovery.
Families and couch co-op groups. Up to four players can share one screen, which suits a living room better than most platformers. The sources do not say how the costume behaves in co-op, so check that closer to launch.
Longtime Rayman fans. The standard edition bundles Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, so a returning player gets two games in one purchase, and the retold story and new realm give the series something fresh to chew on.
Players on Xbox, Switch 2 or PC. The Astro Bot costume is described as PS5-exclusive, so those versions will not include it. The game itself is still planned for those platforms.
What is still unknown
The sources do not give a confirmed Canadian price, and they do not say whether the PS5 Pro version has any extra graphics options. They also do not describe how many costume slots or unlock steps come after the first visit to the shop.
Before you buy, open the PlayStation Store or the Amazon.ca listing for Rayman Legends Retold and check the edition and price in your region, then read Ubisoft’s page for the full list of included costumes.
