Probably Stolen, a cyberpunk shopkeeper sim from Questing Goose Studio and publisher tinyBuild, sold more than 350,000 copies on Steam in its first 24 hours, according to a post from the team. It costs $19.99 US on Steam, with a 10% launch discount, and the store page shows 97% positive reviews.

The game launched on October 28, 2026 for Windows. tinyBuild also reported hundreds of thousands of unique players and a six figure peak of players at once on day one. “We can’t really believe it,” the team wrote in its thank you post.

What are the launch numbers?

These are the figures tinyBuild posted after the first 24 hours:

  • 350,000+ copies sold
  • Hundreds of thousands of unique players
  • A six figure day one peak of players at once
  • A finish among the 12 most played games on Steam worldwide

The team had already announced 200,000 copies within the first few hours. WN Hub, a gaming news site, reported that SteamDB showed a peak of 86,099 concurrent players about an hour and a half after launch, which it described as a tinyBuild record, and that the game had about 500,000 wishlists before release. All sales figures come from the publisher and have not been independently audited.

What is Probably Stolen about?

You play a former scavenger who landed a storefront on a space station split by wealth and corruption, thanks to a generous loan and questionable timing. Rent keeps rising, factions are watching, and the best margins sit in legal gray zones. Customers could be security officers fishing for evidence or a rebel looking for leverage, and every sale is a gamble: approve it, refuse it, report it or look away.

You choose how to start: as a gunsmith, chemist, water merchant, fence, farmer, or from rock bottom. Each trade carries its own trouble, according to the Steam page:

  • Weapons bring inspections and need permits and modifications
  • Chemicals bring addiction and rely on closely guarded recipes
  • Water brings liability and must be tested and filtered
  • Contraband brings raids

You can cut the quality of your goods, relabel counterfeits as genuine or fence stolen stock, but the page warns that security and mob justice may catch up. The game is single-player, uses pixel graphics and has multiple endings and a choice-driven story.

What do you need to run it?

Steam lists a modest minimum for Windows:

  • Windows 10, x64
  • Intel Core i3 or equivalent
  • 8 GB RAM
  • GTX 650 Ti equivalent or higher graphics, with DirectX version 10
  • 1 GB of storage

The recommended line only asks for a 64-bit processor and operating system. The interface and subtitles come in eight languages: English, German, Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, French, Spanish from Spain and Polish. tinyBuild’s post says the Steam Workshop already holds many mods.

Prices

In Canada, Steam lists Probably Stolen at CDN$ 24.99, or CDN$ 22.49 with the 10% launch discount. In the United States it is $19.99, or less with the discount. The sources do not say when the discount ends, and prices at the time of writing can change at any time.

Who it suits

Management and shop sim fans. The loop is inspecting, pricing and stocking goods while rent climbs, which suits players who like numbers and small risks.

Players who like moral choices. Every customer can be approved, refused or reported, and the Steam page promises multiple endings, so the choices are meant to matter.

Parents and younger players. Steam’s content notice cites drug and alcohol abuse and crimes such as racketeering, bribery and the trade of illegal items, so check it before buying for a teen.

Who should wait. The listing shows Windows only. Anyone who wants a console version, or who prefers to see how reviews hold up after the launch rush, can wait; the early review count is still a small sample.

What is still unknown

The pages we read do not say whether console versions are planned, how long the launch discount runs or what tinyBuild expects from long term sales. The 97% score may also move as more players reach the later stages.

For a next step, read the Steam page’s content notice and system requirements, and check the current price in your region before you buy.
