Diablo II: Resurrected gets a six-day anniversary event called Legacy of Terror, running from November 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. PST to November 19, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. PST, according to Blizzard. It is open to both Ladder and Non-Ladder players, so existing characters can join in without waiting for a fresh start.

The event celebrates Diablo’s 30th anniversary and begins on the same day as Ladder Season 16. Game Rant describes it as a package of tougher monsters and richer rewards.

What does Legacy of Terror add?

Blizzard’s announcement lists six changes that apply for the whole event:

  • Guaranteed Diablo Clone: on Hell difficulty only, the Clone spawns every six hours. It takes the place of a Super Unique, as it normally does in Hell.
  • Terrorized Zones: after you defeat Baal on Normal, Nightmare or Hell, that difficulty has Terrorized Zones in every zone. You can switch this off from the Game Creation (gear) menu on Character Select or in the Lobby, and doing so does not affect the other event features.
  • Cow Portal: once Baal is down on a difficulty, a special Cow Portal opens in the Rogue Encampment and stays active for the whole event. You do not need to visit Tristram first.
  • Magic Find: 100%.
  • Vendor discount: 15% at all vendors, Gamblers included, on all difficulties.
  • Hell Bovine Minions: on every difficulty, slain monsters have a rare chance of being reanimated as minions.

Blizzard closes its post with a line of encouragement: “Now get out there and slay, slay, slay!”

When does it start where you live?

The start is global, so servers open at the same moment everywhere. Blizzard Watch, a fan news site, lists these local start times for the Season 16 launch:

  • North America: November 13 at 5:00 pm Pacific, which is 8:00 pm Eastern
  • Europe: November 14 at 1:00 am GMT, or 2:00 am CET
  • Asia: November 14 at 9:00 am CST, or 10:00 am KST

Blizzard gives the end of the event as November 19 at 5:00 p.m. PST, six days after the start. Work out your own local time from that, because the sources do not list end times for other regions.

How does it fit with Ladder Season 16?

Season 16 starts on November 13 and, as in every ladder season, everyone begins with a level one character. The goal for ladder players is to race to level 99 and earn a place on the leaderboard. The season runs on four server types: Classic, Hardcore Classic, Expansion and Hardcore Expansion. Classic covers the first four acts of the original game, while Expansion adds Act 5 from Lord of Destruction, and the Hardcore versions use permadeath.

Game Rant says the Season 16 patch also carries balance changes for Reign of the Warlock. Blizzard Watch notes that Season 15 began in August and expects the next season in February, so a ladder reset is not something that happens every month.

Because Legacy of Terror is open to Non-Ladder players as well, you do not have to take part in the season race to use the bonuses.

Who should jump in?

The Diablo Clone is the headline for anyone chasing rare drops. A guaranteed spawn every six hours across a six-day window gives Hell difficulty players a predictable schedule to plan around, and the 100% Magic Find applies throughout the event. The 15% vendor discount helps anyone who gambles or buys gear, and the Cow Portal gives a shortcut to cow runs after Baal has been beaten on a difficulty.

Two conditions are worth remembering. The Diablo Clone is limited to Hell, and both Terrorized Zones and the Cow Portal only unlock on a difficulty after you defeat Baal there. Players still working through Normal or Nightmare will therefore see fewer of the bonuses at first.

Several details are not in the sources. Blizzard’s post does not say which platforms receive the event, and it does not mention any extra cost. Check the official post and your platform’s patch notes before the start time.

The full list of event rules is in Blizzard’s Legacy of Terror post on its news site, and the Season 16 patch notes are linked from there.
