Just Grub, an iPhone app for saving the restaurants and food spots you care about on a personal map, is free on the App Store, according to its official listing. Hong Kong outlet New Mobile Life reported on October 26, 2026 that the app normally costs US $0.99 and is free for a limited time. Neither source gives an end date.

A map of your own spots

The developer, Justin Bowman, describes the app as a simple, personal map with no social feeds and no reviews from strangers. It covers restaurants, cafes, bars, bakeries and food trucks. Search for a place and the app fills in the name, address, category and links, or you can add a spot by hand. Key features from the listing:

  • A map view with custom pins, and search powered by Apple Maps
  • 16 cuisine categories and 9 spot types, including restaurant, cafe, bar, bakery, food truck, brewery, market and dessert
  • Visited and Want to Go tracking, with 5-star ratings and a price level from $ to $$$$
  • Freeform tags and notes, such as “date night” or “best tacos”
  • Saved links to Yelp, OpenTable, Resy or any website
  • Filters by cuisine, type, tags or visit status, and sorting by name, cuisine, type, rating, price or date added

Sharing, syncing and privacy

You can share spots with friends, and shared lists let everyone see new spots as they are added. iCloud sync covers iPhone and iPad, and data can be exported to JSON through the Files app. The listing says there is no account, no ads and no tracking. The developer states that it does not collect any data from the app, although Apple notes that this information has not been verified by Apple.

Price and requirements

The App Store page shows the app as free, and the tip article lists the former price as US $0.99. The app requires iOS 26.5 or later, is 2.6 MB in size and is in English only. It is listed in the Food & Drink category and carries a user-generated content notice. The listing says the app has not yet received enough ratings or reviews to show an overview.

What it means for you

Just Grub suits people who keep a mental list of places to try and would rather not rely on a public review site. Because it is a private map, it works as a personal notebook for restaurants and a shared list for groups. The sources quote the former price in US dollars only and do not say whether the Canadian storefront shows the same offer, so check the listing on your own device. Limited time offers can end at any time, and no end date has been published.

To get it, open the App Store on your iPhone, search for Just Grub and look at the price button. If it says Get, tap it. If it shows a price, the free offer has ended.
