The Ninja CREAMi XL Deluxe 11-in-1 (model NC501C), the Canadian version of Ninja’s countertop frozen dessert maker, is listed at $199.99 on Ninja’s Canadian site, reduced from $329.99 at the time of writing. It is one of the kitchen appliances Canadian shoppers keep coming back to as holiday gift season approaches.
What you get
The machine turns a frozen base into ice cream, sorbet, gelato, milkshakes or frozen drinks with one of 11 One-Touch programs, which Ninja says includes 5 added programs. The box holds two 24 oz XL tubs with storage lids, a Deluxe Creamerizer paddle, an outer bowl and lid, and a guide with 30 recipes. Ninja says the XL tubs hold 50% more than the original CREAMi’s, and that every part is dishwasher safe. The unit weighs 7.1 kg and carries a 1 year limited warranty.

Why it is getting attention
The price is the first reason. Ninja’s own listing sits well under its list price, and CBN Compass reported that the same machine was advertised at $200 during Amazon Canada’s October sale. That report gave $350 as the regular price, which differs from the $329.99 on Ninja’s site, so use the maker’s figure as the reference. The model is also easy to find: Best Buy Canada lists the NC501C at 4.2 stars from 358 reviews. Prices can change at any time, so check the retailer before you buy.

How it compares
Food Network tested the Creami line and named the Deluxe the best pick for frozen treat fans, particularly families and people who like to invent flavour combinations. It also found trade-offs. The Deluxe has no smoothie bowl setting, so the outlet recommends the standard Creami mainly for smoothie bowls. The newer Ninja Swirl adds soft serve, but the outlet calls it loud and large. The reviewers described the Deluxe as bulky enough that it has to live on the counter.

Who it suits and who should skip it
It suits households that will make frozen desserts often, want the larger XL tubs and have counter space to spare. Skip it if you want ice cream right away: Food Network notes that bases are frozen for 24 hours before processing, so it takes planning. Also skip it if smoothie bowls are your main goal, or if you want soft serve.
One practical check: NC501C is the Canadian model. Ninja’s US site lists the equivalent machine as NC501, so make sure the model number matches the Canadian listing you are buying.
