Shokz OpenDots Air, the lighter and cheaper of the two clip-on earbuds the company introduced on June 4, 2026, is drawing shoppers again this fall. Shokz lists it at C$169.95 in Canada and $129.95 in the United States. During Amazon’s Big Deal Days on October 6 and 7, 2026, Wifihifi reported a Canadian price of C$114.95, and TechRadar’s review calls it the best clip-style open earbud for most people.

What the OpenDots Air is

These are open-ear earbuds. They clip onto the outer ear and leave the ear canal uncovered, so you keep hearing traffic, coworkers and announcements while music plays. According to Shokz, the key specs are:

  • Dual 11.8 mm drivers with Shokz Bassphere technology
  • 6.3 g per earbud, with a charging case that weighs 37.3 g
  • Up to 9 hours per charge and up to 36 hours with the case, and a 10 minute charge gives up to 2 hours
  • IP55 water resistance for the earbuds, while the case is not waterproof
  • MultiPoint pairing, ear detection, Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair and USB-C charging
  • Two colours: Daybreak Purple and Black

Shokz says the OpenDots Air is sold at Shokz.com, Amazon, Best Buy and select retailers.

Why it is getting attention

Two things stand out. The first is the price. Wifihifi’s October 7 roundup listed the OpenDots Air at C$114.95 on Amazon Canada, 32 percent off the C$169.95 list price, and described it as a limited time deal. It listed the US price at $129.95 with no discount.

The second is the TechRadar review, published July 24, 2026. Reviewer Tom Bedford praised the secure fit, the small case and the battery life, and scored sound and value 4 out of 5 each. He also noted that rivals can beat the sound, that the buds can pinch after a while, and that the touch controls are unreliable. There is no noise cancelling, which is normal for an open design, and no wireless charging.

How it compares

Shokz launched the OpenDots Air alongside the OpenDots 2, which lists at C$249.95 and $199.95. The step up adds 10 hours per charge and 40 hours with the case, wireless charging, IP57 water resistance and Dolby Audio. TechRadar still sees the Air as the better buy for most people.

TechRadar also points to the older Shokz OpenDots One, which it says often sells for around $150 or less, and to the cheaper Soundpeats Clip1 as alternatives.

What it means for you

For Canadian readers, the official price is C$169.95, and the C$114.95 price was tied to the October 6 and 7 event. Amazon prices change at any time, so check the current amazon.ca price before deciding. In the United States the price Shokz shows is $129.95.

The OpenDots Air suits commuters, walkers, runners and office workers who want to stay aware of their surroundings and want a light, secure fit. If you want noise cancelling, wireless charging or the best possible sound, look at the OpenDots 2 or a closed earbud instead.
