Samsung’s Galaxy Buds4 Pro are priced at $329.99 on Samsung Canada’s online store, and Best Buy Canada lists them at the same $329.99. In the US they list at $249. The earbuds went on sale on March 11, and they are drawing fresh attention this season for two reasons: Tom’s Guide gave them its Editor’s Choice award, and Amazon in the US cut the price during its October sale.
What you get
Samsung says the Pro uses a two-way speaker with two amplifiers, and that its woofer diaphragm is 19.8% larger than the one in the Buds3 Pro. It also offers Ultra High Quality audio at 24-bit/96 kHz, but only with eligible Galaxy devices, and the setting is off by default.
Tom’s Guide lists the other main specs:
- an IP57 rating
- Battery rated at 7 hours in the buds and 30 hours with the case
- Adaptive noise cancelling, plus siren and alarm awareness on Galaxy devices
- Works with Android and iOS
Samsung Canada sells them in white, black and pink gold.
Why shoppers are looking again
Tom’s Guide said the sound matches the AirPods Pro 3, Sony’s flagship earbuds and Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds Gen 2, and is stronger in bassier music such as metal. Android Authority reported on October 7 that Amazon in the US dropped the price to $199.99 from the $249.99 list price for Prime members, calling it a rare deal on a newer flagship. It also noted a 4.4/5 rating from Amazon shoppers.
We did not find a Canadian sale price on Samsung Canada’s page for the Pro. The same page does show a promotional $199.99 on the smaller Galaxy Buds4, which list at $249.99.
Who should buy them, and who should skip
They suit Android users, especially owners of a Galaxy S24 or newer. Tom’s Guide says many of the AI features, the interpreter and the improved call quality need an S24 or newer.
Skip them if you use an iPhone, since Tom’s Guide says AirPods are the better fit there. Owners of the Buds3 Pro have little reason to upgrade, and multipoint only works between Samsung devices. People who want long battery life in the buds alone may prefer the Sony’s flagship earbuds, which Tom’s Guide rates at 12 hours.
The obvious alternative
The AirPods Pro 3 also list at $249 in the US. Tom’s Guide found the sound comparable, with the AirPods slightly more detailed in heavy rock, and rated their battery at 8 hours in the buds and 24 in the case. For Android owners the Buds4 Pro make more sense; for iPhone owners the AirPods do. Buyers on a tighter budget can look at the standard Galaxy Buds4, an open-fit design without ear tips.
