Google is taking its free Google AI Educator Series (GES) to Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Australia and sub-Saharan Africa in the coming months, and it is adding new modules on November 4 in the U.S. The company announced the expansion on November 3, 2026.

GES is described by Google as no-cost, on-demand training that gives teachers practical AI skills they can use straight away and fit around a busy schedule. It first launched in the U.S. earlier this year, then expanded to India, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines and the U.K. and Ireland.

Which countries are getting the Google AI Educator Series next?

Five new markets are on the list: Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Australia and sub-Saharan Africa. Google gives no launch dates beyond “in the coming months”, and it does not say which languages or local partners will be involved in each one.

How is it being used in countries that already have it?

Google shared one example for each of five markets:

  • India. Teachers use Gemini and Gemini Notebook to turn complex topics into comic strips, podcasts and infographics. After September sessions that trained 80,000 educators, Google is bringing GES to all Indian educators as self-paced online modules. The training is aligned with National Education Policy 2020 and is offered in English and six local languages: Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Assamese, Odia and Punjabi, with more due next year.
  • Philippines. Educators use Gemini to simulate market scenarios in economics classes, freeing time for direct guidance. Google has partnered with the Philippine Department of Education, the Commission on Higher Education and the Technical Skills Development Authority to bring training to over one million educators. The Department of Education has issued an official memorandum endorsing GES for all teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Malaysia. After the official launch at BETT Asia, teachers report saving three to five hours of prep time per topic on curricula, assessments and visual aids. Google is launching “train-the-trainer” bootcamps with local partners to reach private school educators, pre-service teachers and university faculty.
  • United Kingdom. Teachers use Gemini Notebook for creative writing and lesson plans. Through GES, all 650,000 teachers can receive digital literacy training at virtual or in-person events across the UK and Ireland, and Google is hosting “train the trainer” workshops at its London office in November.
  • Korea. GES is run with Seoul National University of Education and aligned with the 2022 Revised Curriculum and the Ministry of Education’s Teacher AI/Digital Education Competency Framework. Teachers use Gemini and Gemini Notebook to design inquiry-based lessons and assessments and to handle tasks such as parent communications and data analysis.

The time-saving figure for Malaysia is a teacher-reported result relayed by Google, not an independent measurement.

What are the new November modules?

Google says it updates GES content monthly based on educator feedback. The November modules go live on November 4 in the U.S. and cover three topics:

  • Build interactive assessments. Using Gemini to make practice tests and interactive web assessments, such as exit tickets with instant feedback and hints for wrong answers, to help students prepare for exams like state tests.
  • Guide students through game-based learning. Activities that show why data accuracy, model performance and human oversight matter.
  • Strengthen academic assignments. Using Gemini to spot questions that invite shortcuts, so faculty can write assignments that encourage deeper critical thinking.

How does the training work?

Google’s India education page gives a clearer picture of the format. Modules are short and self-paced and can be taken in any order, at about 30 minutes each for primary and secondary teachers. Each finished module earns a digital badge after a short quiz, teachers can collect up to 8 badges depending on their role, and completing at least 6 modules can earn a Google certificate. That page is for India, so details may differ elsewhere.

Prices

GES is no-cost, according to Google. No price, fee or subscription is mentioned for any country, and the post does not say whether the Gemini tools used in the lessons need a paid plan. Check the education pages on Google’s site for current terms in your country.

Who it suits

Teachers in the five new regions. If you teach in Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Australia or sub-Saharan Africa, watch for the local launch, since no dates are given.

Teachers in the U.S. The November modules arrive on November 4, aimed at assessments, game-based learning and assignment design.

School leaders and training coordinators. The train-the-trainer sessions in Malaysia and the UK show how Google is trying to reach private schools, pre-service teachers and universities.

Who should wait. Educators who need local-language material in a market not yet named should expect to wait, as Google lists languages only for India.

What is still unknown?

Google has not given launch dates, languages, partners or officials for the five new regions. Start with Google’s education pages for the Google AI Educator Series, which is also where the badges are earned.
