PEAK, the co-op climbing game from Aggro Crab and Landfall, is out now on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, according to a post on Xbox Wire dated October 22, 2026. The Xbox listing shows a price of $9.99 in US dollars. The post does not give a Canadian price, so Canadian readers should check the Xbox store in their own region.

What PEAK is

You play as a lost nature scout who has crash landed on a mysterious island. The only way to be rescued is to climb the mountain at its centre. You can go alone or with friends, and the studios describe it as a game where the slightest mistake can spell your doom.

The map changes every 24 hours, so the climb looks different each day. Players can also retry the same island several times in one day. There are 4 biomes to cross, each with its own hazards.

How the climb works

Every setback limits your stamina, which makes the next stretch harder. You scavenge for food, some of it questionable, and use survival items such as energy drinks and climbing spikes. Teammates can place ropes and spikes to help whoever climbs after them.

  • Online cross-platform co-op and offline single player
  • Multiplayer is friends only: invite up to three other scouts
  • Proximity chat, campfires, marshmallows and character customization
  • Dozens of badges and cosmetics to unlock

What this means for Xbox players

The Xbox version includes all the content updates released so far, including extra biomes, cosmetics and features. Crossplay means an Xbox player can join a troop on other platforms. Xbox Play Anywhere lets you play on both console and PC at no additional cost.

Game Informer reported earlier in October that the game first launched on PC on June 16, 2025, and that the console versions would carry everything added since then.

Where it came from

Aggro Crab is based in Seattle and Landfall in Stockholm. The two teams met at a game developer conference in 2022, and PEAK began as a game jam project in South Korea. Seven developers shared a rented apartment for the jam, according to the Xbox Wire post.

For a low price and a mode built around playing with friends, PEAK is an easy pick for groups who like chaotic co-op. Solo players can still climb alone, though the game is clearly designed for a troop.
