The Logitech G502 HERO wired gaming mouse was listed on Amazon.ca at C$64.99 at the time of writing, 13% below Amazon’s list price of C$74.99, which is also what Logitech asks on its Canadian page. It has a HERO 25K sensor, 11 programmable buttons and weighs 121 g.
Logitech G makes the mouse and sells it in Canada and the United States. Amazon.com listed it at US$37.99 against Logitech’s own US$69.99 at the time of writing, and Amazon.ca ranks it #1 in PC Gaming Mice.
What is the G502 HERO?
Logitech calls the G502 HERO a legendary gaming mouse built for performance and customization. It pairs the HERO 25K sensor with LIGHTSYNC RGB lighting, onboard profiles and adjustable weights, and it connects by USB cable, with no wireless option.
Logitech says the sensor tracks at 400+ IPS across a range of 100 to 25,600 DPI with zero smoothing, filtering or acceleration. A DPI Shift button on the left side lets you drop to a lower sensitivity for precise aiming and snap back when you need to turn quickly.

Prices
In Canada, Logitech lists the mouse at C$74.99, and Amazon.ca listed it at C$64.99 at the time of writing. The Canadian page also shows a Logitech sale banner (SCARY GOOD SAVINGS, save up to $60) and an offer of 20% off when you buy this mouse with another mouse, keyboard or headset.
In the United States, Logitech lists US$69.99 and Amazon.com listed US$37.99, a 46% saving against that list price. These are prices at the time of writing and can change at any time. We did not check Canadian Tire, Best Buy Canada or other Canadian retailers.
Why is it trending?
Amazon’s pages show the demand. Amazon.ca reports 4K+ bought in the past month, an Amazon’s Choice badge, a #1 rank in PC Gaming Mice and #28 in Video Games, with 4.5 out of 5 stars from 57,245 ratings. Amazon.com reports 10K+ bought in the past month, #2 in PC Gaming Mice and #25 in Video Games, with 4.6 out of 5 stars from 58,855 ratings.
Neither Logitech nor Amazon says why demand is high this week. Our reading is that holiday shopping season has begun and a proven wired mouse at a low price is an easy gift or upgrade. Treat that as context, not a finding from the sources.

How does it compare with other Logitech mice?
Logitech sells newer versions. Amazon.ca listed the G502 X Wired at C$99.98 (its listing mentions 13 buttons) and the wireless G502 Lightspeed at C$149.99 at the time of writing. The HERO was the lowest priced of the three at the time of writing, and the extra money buys either more buttons or freedom from a cable, depending on the model. We have not tested any of them, so we cannot say how they feel in the hand.

Who it suits
PC gamers on a budget. If you want a well known shape, plenty of buttons and a sensor that Logitech says tops out at 25,600 DPI, this is a low-cost way in. Amazon lists it as compatible with PC and Mac.
Players who like to tune a mouse. The five weights, five on-the-fly DPI steps and onboard profiles suit people who like to dial in feel and carry settings between machines without installing software.
Anyone who wants wireless or a very light mouse. At 121 g with a cable, it is not aimed at you. Look at the wireless Lightspeed model instead, or wait to see whether newer wired models drop in price.
Who should wait or skip. If you are not in a hurry, prices on both sites can change at any time, so check again on the day you buy. Anyone who prefers a small mouse should look at the size first, since this one is 131.2 mm deep.
What we do not know
We have not tested the mouse, and Logitech does not say how long the sale runs. Amazon’s warranty note (1 year) differs from the longer term on Logitech’s Canadian page, so check the terms before you buy.
Your next step: open the Logitech G Canada page to compare the price with Amazon.ca on the day you buy, and check the box for the weights and case before you start tuning.
