Tilt-Shift, a camera app that gives photos and videos the look of a miniature model, is free on the App Store, according to its official listing. Hong Kong outlet New Mobile Life reported on October 26, 2026 that the app normally costs US $0.99 and is free for a limited time. Neither source gives an end date.
What the app does
The effect works by keeping one band of the scene sharp while softly blurring everything around it, which makes city streets, landscapes and buildings look like tiny models. The developer, chaoliang lan, says the effect previews live while you shoot. Key features from the listing:
- Photo and video modes, with sound recorded in video, and an easy switch between the two
- A focus band you can move and angle, plus controls for blur strength, focus width, saturation and brightness
- Framing choices of Full Screen, 4:3, 16:9, 3:2 or 1:1
- Zoom through the device’s supported options, pinch gestures or an on-screen zoom dial
- Tap to set focus and metering, then adjust exposure, including while recording

Works on photos you already have
You do not have to shoot new pictures. Photos from your library can get the miniature effect too. Finished work is saved to Photos, and recorded videos can be played and shared from a Recent view. According to the version history, video recording arrived in version 2.1 on October 10.

Price, requirements and privacy
The App Store page shows the app as free, and the tip article lists the former price as US $0.99. The app is listed for iPhone and iPad, requires iOS 26.0 or later on iPhone, is 3.2 MB in size and is in English only. The developer states that it does not collect any data from the app, though Apple notes that this information has not been verified by Apple. The listing also says the app has not yet received enough ratings or reviews to show an overview.

What it means for you
The sources quote the old price in US dollars only, and the free price applies to the App Store listing the sources checked. They do not say whether the Canadian storefront shows the same offer, so check the listing on your own device. Limited time offers can end at any time, and no end date has been published.
To get it, open the App Store on your iPhone, search for Tilt-Shift and look at the price button. If it says Get, tap it. If it shows a price, the free offer has ended. As with any new app from a small developer, it is worth a quick look at the privacy details on the listing before you install.
