Lavazza’s Tablì is a single-serve espresso machine that uses pressed discs of coffee instead of capsules, and the US list price for the machine alone is $129.99. Lavazza describes each tab as a dose of 100% coffee with no casing and no waste, and the machine is on sale at Amazon in the United States.

The Italian coffee maker launched Tablì in Italy first and brought it to the US later in 2026. The system has drawn coverage this autumn, including a TechRadar review on 18 October 2026 and a place in that site’s roundup of the month’s new tech on 31 October 2026.

How does the Tablì system work?

Each tab is a round disc of coffee that has already been dosed, ground and tamped, according to Homes & Gardens. The tab has a concave shape and expands as water passes over it, which the article says helps the coffee saturate fully. There is no plastic casing, wrapping or coating to throw away.

Tabs come in five varieties: Espresso, Espresso Double, Espresso Lungo, Decaf and Super Crema. A drawer-style tab holder and an airtight container are the suggested storage options.

What are the machine’s specs?

TechRadar lists these figures for the machine:

  • Water tank: 40.58 oz / 1.2 liters
  • Pressure: 15 bar
  • Size: 6.5 x 12.9 x 15.4 inches
  • Weight: 9.9 lbs
  • A mobile app with customization and remote brewing

The machine comes in Walnut Brown, Graphite Black and Cherry Red, according to Homes & Gardens. TechRadar scored it 4.5 out of 5 for value and for performance and 5 out of 5 for design, and said the coffee tastes better than rivals such as Nespresso. That is the reviewer’s opinion, not a lab result. The one fault it reported: Google Home connectivity did not work during testing.

Prices

  • Lavazza USA lists the Tablì Espresso Machine at $129.99 and a Tablì Tabs Variety Collection at $60.00.
  • Amazon US lists the Brown machine alone at $129.99, and a Brown machine with the MilkEasy milk frother at $199.99. Bundles with tabs are also listed.
  • TechRadar puts a four-pack of tab boxes at $48 in the US, about $1 per drink, and compares that with Nespresso Vertuo capsules at $1.40 to $1.60 each.
  • In Italy, Homes & Gardens reported the machine at €249.99 and a 12-pack of tabs at €7.99 at launch.

All US figures are US dollars and were read on store pages at the time of writing. Prices can change, and Lavazza’s own pages showed the Walnut Brown machine as unavailable with an email sign-up for restock when we looked, so Amazon is where we found it listed.

Is the Tablì worth buying?

On the numbers, the appeal is the running cost and the waste. At about $1 per drink for tabs against $1.40 to $1.60 for Vertuo capsules, the savings add up for a daily espresso drinker, and the tabs leave no capsule to recycle. The catch is that tabs only work in this machine, so the long-term price depends on Lavazza keeping them available and affordable.

Who it suits

Apartment and small-kitchen cooks. At 6.5 x 12.9 x 15.4 inches and 9.9 lbs, the machine takes little counter space.

Capsule users tired of the waste. If you drink espresso every day and dislike the plastic or aluminium pile, tabs remove it, and the per-drink cost quoted by TechRadar is lower than Vertuo capsules.

Smart home fans. The app handles customization and remote brewing, though Google Home linking failed in TechRadar’s test.

Who should wait. Anyone who wants a built-in milk system or who wants to be sure of tab supply should watch the bundle with the MilkEasy frother and check Lavazza’s stock first. The machine alone does not froth milk.

What is still unknown?

Our sources do not give cup sizes, the warranty, or a price for the machine in countries other than the US and Italy. Lavazza’s own pages did not list specifications when we read them.

Next step

Compare the machine-only listing with the bundle that includes the frother on Amazon, check the tab price per box, and confirm the colour before you order. If you want the machine from Lavazza directly, use the restock sign-up on its site.
