The EcoFlow RIVER 3, a 245Wh portable power station with a 300W rated output, is priced at C$249 at Best Buy Canada at the time of writing, down from a regular price of C$299. Best Buy lists the sale as ending October 31, 2026, which makes it a timely pick for readers thinking about winter power outages.
EcoFlow’s own Canadian store lists the same unit at $269.00 CAD, marked down from $299.00, though the page showed it as sold out with a pre-order notice when we checked. Amazon.ca also carries the RIVER 3, but we could not confirm its price.
What are the key specs?

- Output: 300W rated, with X-Boost for up to 600W on some heating devices, according to EcoFlow
- Outlets: 2 AC outlets (300W total), 2 USB-A ports (12W max each), 1 USB-C port (100W max) and 1 car outlet (126W max)

- Size and weight: 10 x 8.3 x 4.4 in and 7.8 lb

EcoFlow says the station can run up to 6 appliances at the same time. All test figures come from the company’s own testing, and it warns that real use can differ.
How fast does it charge?
EcoFlow says a wall outlet charges the RIVER 3 from 0 to 100% in 60 minutes using its 320W AC input. Solar input is 110W for a full charge in as fast as 2.6 hr, and a car input of 100W takes 2.8 hr. A generator input of 320W also gets there in 60 min.
Prices
In Canada, Best Buy Canada lists C$249 against C$299 until October 31, 2026. EcoFlow Canada lists $269.00 CAD, and its bundles include the RIVER 3 with a 45W Type-C solar panel at $359 CAD, and the RIVER 3 with a 60W solar panel at $399 CAD. Prices change often, so check the retailer page before you buy.
In the United States, we did not find a confirmed price for this exact model on EcoFlow’s US store, so none is quoted here.
Why is it trending?
Cold weather brings storms and outages, and small power stations are a common first purchase for people who want to keep a router, phone and laptop running. Two things we could check point to this model this week: Best Buy Canada’s sale with a clear end date, and EcoFlow Canada’s Halloween sale banner next to a sold out listing. Neither shows sales numbers, so this is shopper attention rather than a verified best seller ranking.
How does it compare?
Best Buy Canada also lists the larger RIVER 3 Plus, rated at 600 Watts and 286 Wh, at C$399. That is a step up in output and capacity for a higher price. EcoFlow publishes a RIVER 2 versus RIVER 3 comparison video on its YouTube channel, but we do not quote its figures here and have not seen an independent comparison.
Who it suits
Apartment and condo dwellers who want outage backup for small electronics. A 245Wh pack with a UPS switchover is aimed at routers, phones, laptops and lights, and the 7.8 lb weight makes it easy to move. It will not run big appliances, so compare each device’s wattage label with the 300W rating.
Campers and road trippers. The car outlet, USB-C port at up to 100W and a 45W Type-C solar panel bundle suit short trips and weekend camping.
People who want the longest lifespan for the money. EcoFlow rates the LiFePO4 cells at 3000 cycles to 80% capacity, which it describes as about 10 years of everyday use.
Who should wait or skip. If you want to run a space heater or a fridge for hours, a 245Wh unit is too small, and the RIVER 3 Plus or a larger station is the better direction. The spec table also lists a charge temperature range of 32F to 113F, so keep the unit indoors in freezing weather. If the EcoFlow Canada listing is sold out, you may prefer to wait for stock rather than rely on the pre-order.
What we do not know
We do not know whether Best Buy will extend the C$249 sale past October 31, 2026, what the Amazon.ca price is, or what a US buyer would pay. Runtime for your own devices will vary and EcoFlow’s figures are laboratory results.
Next step
Open the Best Buy Canada listing before October 31, 2026 to confirm C$249 and stock in your area, and add up the wattage of the devices you want to power before you check out.
