Darkest Dungeon II is coming to iPhone, iPad and Android in 2027, published on mobile by Playdigious, and no release date, price or Canadian availability has been announced. Red Hook Studios stays on as the game’s developer, and the news surfaced on October 28, according to RPG Site.
What exactly was announced?
Playdigious revealed a mobile version of the roguelike with a teaser trailer and a short note. In its words, “The road to the Mountain is long and full of horrors, and in 2027 it leads to your phone!”
The platforms are iOS and Android. RPG Site points out that the original Darkest Dungeon only ever reached mobile through its Tablet Edition for iPad, and that the teaser suggests iPhone support this time.
Playdigious is a publisher that adapts established PC games for phones. That usually means trimming build size and reworking controls for touch, though neither the publisher nor Red Hook has said what the port will change.

What is the game?
Darkest Dungeon II is a turn-based roguelike that Red Hook calls a road trip of the damned. You form a party, equip a stagecoach and travel across a decaying land toward a mountain on a last effort to avert the apocalypse.
The sources describe the main ideas:
- Turn-based combat, where you also manage each hero’s stress, bonds and rivalries
- Five nightmarish regions to cross on the way to the Mountain
- A strategic Kingdoms mode about defending a crumbling realm
The studio’s own line sums up the tension: the greatest dangers may come from within the party.

Where can you play it today?
The game is already out on PC, PlayStation 5 and 4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, according to RPG Site. A Switch 2 Edition arrived recently.
On PC it is listed on Steam. If you play there, you can check the current Canadian price on the store page, since the mobile price has not been set.

What is still unknown, and who should wait?
The announcement does not give a launch day or month, a mobile price, a pre-registration date, a monetization model, a supported device list or whether progress will carry over between devices, as iTechGuides notes. Canadian and US availability has not been addressed either, though iOS and Android releases usually go through the Apple and Google stores in both countries.
If you already own the game on another platform, there is no reason to rush. If you only play on a phone and like grim, tactical games, 2027 is the year to watch, and it makes sense to wait for the store listing before paying for anything.
Be careful with third party pages that claim a date or a pre-order link. Until Apple or Google list the game, the only trustworthy sources are Playdigious and Red Hook Studios. The Playdigious website is the place to check for the next update.
