Toyota Canada is recalling about 6,721 Land Cruiser vehicles because a fuel tube connection could come apart. The company announced the recall in Toronto on October 14, 2026, and the US regulator NHTSA made a matching notice public on October 21, 2026.

What the notice says

According to Toyota Canada, certain model year 2024-2027 Land Cruiser vehicles have a fuel tube connection near the fuel tank that could disconnect. If it does, fuel could leak until the hybrid system shuts the engine off. Toyota states that a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

The US filing, NHTSA campaign 26V673, describes the part in more detail. AutoGuide reported that the resin fuel tube can separate from the main metal fuel line near the tank if its retaining clip becomes unseated or lifted. The outlet also reported that Toyota has not confirmed the precise root cause of what lifts the clips in the field.

The repair

Toyota says the fix is free for owners. Dealers will:

  • inspect the fuel tube connection
  • install a supplemental clamp
  • replace the resin fuel tube first, if it needs it, and then fit the clamp

Canada and US figures

In Canada, the recall covers about 6,721 vehicles, and Toyota says owners will be notified by mid-December 2026 and asked to bring their vehicles to a Toyota dealer.

In the United States, the notice covers 105,794 Land Cruiser Hybrid vehicles from model years 2024-2027. AutoGuide reported that Toyota decided on a voluntary recall on October 8, 2026, and that owner letters are scheduled to be mailed on November 29, 2026. The same report says that as of October 6, 2026, Toyota had identified 23 Field Technical Reports and 64 US warranty claims related to the condition.

The Canadian notice refers to certain Land Cruiser vehicles, while the US notice names the Land Cruiser Hybrid. Check your own vehicle rather than assuming either way.

What it means for you

Not every Land Cruiser is necessarily included, so the first step is to look up your vehicle. Canadian owners can enter their VIN at Toyota.ca/recall or call 1-888-TOYOTA-8 (1-888-869-6828). US owners can reach Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331, and recall status can also be checked in the NHTSA recall database.

Toyota Canada notes that its recall information is current as of the date it was filed and may change. If you have questions about your vehicle or about what to do before your notice arrives, contact Toyota or the regulator directly: Transport Canada in Canada, NHTSA in the United States.
