Wuthering Waves Version 3.8, titled “Lilies in a Dying Dream”, goes live on November 12 on all platforms, and the game stays free to play. Kuro Games says the update continues the main story, adds a new Tactical Hologram challenge and a deluxe outfit, and sets the stage for Version 4.0.

What is in the Version 3.8 story and challenges?
The main story continues with Chapter IV Act V, called A Bouquet for Tomorrow. The Steam post for the update also highlights a new character, Lily, and a new Main Quest.
Combat players get Tactical Hologram: Calamity Effigy, a new Tactical Hologram challenge. Kuro Games also says the version marks the beginning of the world and narrative setting for Version 4.0 and gives a first glimpse of the next chapter. More on Version 4.0 is promised later.
Which events and outfits come with it?
The update adds a deluxe outfit for Hiyuki, called Lune Noire, along with a new accessory named Flaming Sakura. The events listed are:

What quality of life changes are included?
Rover gets a redesigned Resonance Conversion page with a simpler interface. After you convert, the game switches automatically to the Echo Set you have equipped for that Resonance Attribute, and Rover can now hold a separate Echo setup for each attribute.
A new Material Locator button in the Guidebook’s Material Collection page and the Resonator Ascension Planner helps you teleport to unlocked challenges that drop the materials you need, or start them straight away. After a material challenge, a Blitz Mode option restarts it without reloading.
Resonator animations are also tuned, with the work focused on turning in place, movement transitions and combat hit reactions.
On PC, new launcher options let you choose between Full Resources and Basic Resources, and an upgraded Resource Cleanup feature helps free up storage. Kuro Games says these are rolling out gradually as a limited test and that more details will follow in official announcements.
On supported consoles, players can pick Performance or Quality under Graphics Quality, though the setting is not available on PS5 and Xbox Series S. On PS5 Pro, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution can raise image resolution up to 4K, according to the announcement.
What banners are planned?
Featured Resonator Convenes run in two phases. Phase I is titled Bloom of Yesterday’s Dreamsoil and Phase II is titled Voices on Azure Feathers, with Featured Weapon Convenes running in matching phases. Version 3.8 also brings Starpath Reverbs II for Resonators and Tideforge Reverbs II for weapons, where you can choose a 5-Star Resonator or 5-Star Weapon as your Featured target and change your pick at any time.
Prices
Wuthering Waves is free to play, and Steam lists it as such. The sources give no price for the Lune Noire outfit or any Convene currency, and they name no regional prices or currencies. Check the in-game shop or your platform store for what is on sale in your country.
Who it suits
Story followers. If you are caught up through Chapter IV, Act V is the reason to log in on November 12, and it leads into Version 4.0.
Players who farm materials. The Material Locator, the Ascension Planner link and Blitz Mode are aimed at cutting travel and loading time.
PC players with limited storage. The Basic Resources option and Resource Cleanup could help, but they are in a limited test, so you may not see them straight away.
PS5 Pro owners. PSSR support is the headline for you, while PS5 and Xbox Series S players should note the missing Graphics Quality setting.
Who should wait. If you are deciding whether to start, nothing in the sources changes the free entry point, so there is no deadline pressure.
