Microsoft is giving away a one of a kind XBOX Series X-BITE, a working XBOX Series X that sits inside a custom built alligator, and entering is free. The XBOX Series X-BITE Sweepstakes runs from 9:00 a.m. PT on November 3, 2026, through 11:59 p.m. PT on November 10, 2026, and it is open only to adults in the United States.

According to Xbox Wire, only one XBOX Series X-BITE exists. The console is the centrepiece of a Florida themed campaign, and the winner will be chosen from entries made on X, Instagram or TikTok.

What is the XBOX Series X-BITE?

The XBOX Series X-BITE is a custom fabrication built around a standard XBOX Series X. Xbox says the idea is that an alligator swallowed the console whole, and that it still works.

The alligator measures more than five feet from snout to tail. The console sits inside its body and shows through an illuminated XBOX Nexus. A custom XBOX Wireless Controller with bite marks rests between the jaws, with XBOX green irises and Nexus inspired pupils.

Creature animatronics specialists John Nolan Studio made it through 3D modeling, sculpting and fabrication. Xbox says the studio has built creatures and animatronics for The Witcher, Jurassic World Dominion and HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series.

One caution from the fine print: the official rules say no actual alligators were used or harmed, and add that the piece is “best as display only.”

How do you enter the sweepstakes?

Xbox Wire lists three ways to enter, one for each platform:

  • Follow @XBOX on X, Instagram or TikTok
  • Repost the designated XBOX sweepstakes post
  • Manually add #XbiteSweepstakes to your repost
  • Keep your account public so your entry can be seen

The official rules add detail. On X you choose Quote from the repost options and type the hashtag yourself, and on Instagram and TikTok you type it into the text field that appears. A hashtag that is not typed by hand does not count. Entries must be posted before the period closes, and a private account is not eligible.

Each person can make up to three entries, one on each platform. Automated entry tools are not allowed, and a screenshot of your repost is not proof that the sponsor received it.

Who can enter?

Xbox Wire says the sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 50 U.S. and D.C., aged 18 or older. The official rules also name Puerto Rico and require a valid X, Instagram or TikTok account at the time of entry.

Employees of Microsoft and the agencies involved, and their household and immediate family members, cannot take part. If you live outside the United States, you are not eligible, whatever platform you use.

When is the winner chosen?

According to the official rules, one potential winner will be drawn at random on or around November 11, 2026, from the eligible entries the sponsor recorded. Odds depend on how many eligible entries arrive.

The potential winner is notified by direct message on the platform used to enter and has 48 hours to reply with a name, phone number and email address. After that, the sponsor makes contact by phone or email, and the person has 24 hours to verify eligibility and provide a shipping address. P.O. boxes are not accepted. As Xbox puts it, miss the window and “this gator makes a clean getaway.”

Prices

Nothing is for sale here. Entry is free: Xbox Wire states NO PURCHASE NECESSARY, and the rules say a purchase does not improve your chances.

The official rules list the approximate retail value of the prize as $799.99, described as a custom designed XBOX Series X Console and Controller bundle. They also say design elements are at the sponsor’s discretion. Taxes and any other costs not named in the rules are the winner’s responsibility, the prize cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred, and it is awarded as is, apart from any manufacturer’s limited warranty. The sponsor may substitute a prize of comparable or greater value.

Who it suits

Collectors of console oddities. This is a display piece first and a console second, and the rules themselves call it best as display only.

Xbox fans in the United States. If you are an eligible adult with an X, Instagram or TikTok account, entering takes a follow and one repost with a typed hashtag.

Privacy minded readers. Entering requires a public account on a social platform, and the rules say a private account makes the entry ineligible. You can return the account to private after winners are announced.

Readers outside the United States. You cannot enter, but the campaign gives a look at what the studio built, and the trailer is below.

What is still unknown: the sources do not say whether the console is meant for regular play over a long period, how heavy or large it is beyond the length, or whether Xbox plans a similar giveaway outside the United States.
