Apple HomeView, the company’s first home display with a screen, is now on pre-order and will start arriving on November 13. Apple introduced the device on October 13, 2026, and its specifications page now spells out exactly which apps will be ready on day one: 19 Apple apps in total.
HomeView sells for $299 in the U.S. A wall mounted version costs the same. Pre-orders are open in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the UK, the U.S. and Singapore. In South Africa it will be sold through Apple Authorized Resellers from November 13. According to Apple, it is not on sale in the European Union because Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS there.
The hardware
The standard HomeView pairs a 7-inch Liquid Retina display with a domed speaker base and a stainless steel hinge that lets the screen tilt. Key specs from Apple:
- 1088-by-1088-pixel display at 220 ppi, from 500 nits down to 0.3 nits
- A18 chip
- 12MP Center Stage camera for FaceTime video
- Two full-range drivers, a down-firing woofer and two passive radiators
- Temperature and humidity sensor, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6.0 and Thread
- Silver, starlight, rose pink or space gray
The box includes a 1.5 m USB-C cable and a 30W power adapter. The wall mounted model only comes in silver or space gray, and its mount, cable and power adapter (minimum 20W) are each sold separately. Apple lists compatible Schneider Home mounts for it.
Which apps are ready on day one
According to Apple’s specifications page, HomeView ships with Alarms, Calendar, FaceTime, Find My, Home, Intercom, Messages, Music, Podcasts, Reminders, Safari, Settings, Timers, Weather and World Clock built in.
Four more apps, Audiobooks, Classical, News and TV, are listed as available from iPhone, so they depend on your paired phone. New Mobile Life points out that there is no dedicated Photos app at launch, although photos can still appear through the display’s faces and widgets.
Apple also says supported third-party audio and video apps will work, but it has not published a full list.
What it means for you
HomeView needs an iPhone with iOS 27.2 or later, or an iPad with iPadOS 27.2 or later, so it is firmly an Apple household device. It can recognize up to six people by face and show each one a personal Home Screen, and it doubles as a home hub for the new Apple Home Collection accessories.
Apple says the new Siri on HomeView launches in English only. If you mostly want smart home control and music, the app list above covers the basics. If you were hoping for a full tablet style app store, that is not what HomeView offers today.
