Amazon.com is selling the Greenworks 82V 16-inch cordless chainsaw kit, which comes with a 4.0Ah battery and a charger, for $247.11 at the time of writing. The listing is sold and shipped by Amazon in the US. Greenworks lists the same kit, model 82CS24-4DP, at $299.99 on its own Greenworks Commercial store, so the Amazon price sits well under the maker’s figure.

No end date is shown, and prices like this can change at any time.

How this price compares

The maker’s price is the fairest yardstick here. Greenworks Commercial shows $299.99 for the kit, with pricing for every US state except Hawaii and Alaska. 9to5Toys, which spotted the deal, says the Amazon price beats the brand’s direct pricing by $53 and notes that the saw started at a $400 full price on Amazon when it launched in early 2025.

This is not the lowest price on record. According to 9to5Toys, the kit fell to $212 during June’s Prime Day event, and it sat above the current price for most of the year after that.

What you get

This is the entry model in Greenworks’ commercial chainsaw line, built for landscapers and grounds crews but also sold to homeowners. Key details from Greenworks and the listing:

  • 16-inch bar and chain with a 2.4kW brushless direct drive motor
  • 13,000 RPM and an operating weight of 12.9 lbs, according to Greenworks
  • Up to 225 cuts per charge with the included 4.0Ah battery, per the listing
  • Automatic oiler with a flip-up cap and see-through oil tank, plus a mechanical chain brake and bucking spikes

Greenworks also says the saw is quieter than gas models and needs no priming, pull cord or fuel mixing.

Who it suits and what to check

The kit makes the most sense for people who cut firewood, clean up storm damage or prune trees several times a season and want gas-like power without fuel. Anyone who only trims a few small branches a year will find a smaller, cheaper saw easier to live with.

Before buying, check the battery platform. This kit runs on Greenworks’ commercial 82V system, and Greenworks lists its 82BD400, 82BD500 and 82BD800 packs for the best performance. If you already own Greenworks tools on a different voltage, those batteries will not be the same system, so plan on this kit’s battery and charger being its own family.

Also confirm that the listing still says sold by Amazon and shows the new condition price, since used offers appear on the same page at different prices.
