The Elder Scrolls Online adds its Markarth content to the base game on November 9, 2026, completing the Skyrim-themed Season Two rollout that began on October 21. Steam’s news feed bills the date as Return to Skyrim, and the official season page lists “Markarth base game and Skyrim Golden Pursuit” for that day. Players who own only the base game get it without buying a separate expansion.

What arrives on November 9?

Markarth moves into the base game with the zone and story that wrap up the Dark Heart of Skyrim storyline, according to Mixed News. A Skyrim Golden Pursuit, the game’s themed goal tracker with rewards attached, goes live on the same date, per the official Season Two schedule.

The studio has not published a time of day for the switch, and the pages we read do not give separate dates for PC, PlayStation or Xbox.

What is already free from Season Two?

The first part landed on October 21. Greymoor, the Skyrim chapter, and the Wolfhunter dungeon pack are now part of the base game. That includes the Western Skyrim zone, the Antiquities treasure-hunting system, Solitude, the underground realm of Blackreach and Kyne’s Aegis, a 12-player trial.

Two dungeons also gained solo versions: Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices. Mechanics built for groups were reworked for one player, and companions can help. Optional modifiers called Meted Misfortunes raise the challenge, with up to three active at once on Dauntless difficulty, and tougher settings improve rewards such as Undaunted Crests, gear and collectibles.

What else is on the Season Two calendar?

The official schedule runs past the Markarth date:

  • November 9: Markarth in the base game and the Skyrim Golden Pursuit
  • January 6: the Nowhere Vault Golden Pursuit
  • January 19: quality of life improvements and a new PvP season

Patched. gg adds that Update 52 on January 19 brings area-of-effect pulls and taunts, a native minimap option, doubled home furnishing limits for notable-sized homes and companion head and face customization. The new PvP season lasts 6 months.

What still costs money?

Gameplay additions in Season Two are free for ESO players, according to Mixed News. The paid part is the Tamriel Tome, a reward track with Free, Premium and Premium + Bonuses tiers. The official page says paid tiers are available for purchase until the season ends. Rewards named so far include the Maarselok Slayer Mammoth mount and the Azureblight Recall action.

No CAD or USD price for the Tome tiers appears on the pages we read, so check the in-game Crown Store for current Canadian and US pricing before buying.

Where can you play it?

The season page lists PC and Mac, PlayStation, Xbox (including Game Pass, Play Anywhere and Xbox on PC) and the Epic Games Store. It carries an ESRB rating of Mature 17+. Nothing we read mentions Canada specifically, so there is no sign of a regional difference for Canadian or US players.

Who it suits

Players who dropped ESO years ago. The Skyrim chapters are now free, so a returning player can reach Western Skyrim and Markarth without paying for old expansions.

Solo players. The two solo dungeons with companion support and adjustable difficulty are the clearest reason to log in alone.

Skyrim fans curious about the MMO. This is the closest ESO gets to a guided tour of the region, though it is an online game with its own systems and not a Skyrim sequel.

Completionists. The Tome tracks and Golden Pursuits will take time, and the premium tiers cost extra.

What is still unknown?

The pages we read do not say what the Skyrim Golden Pursuit rewards are, what time the November 9 update goes live or how much the Tome tiers cost in Canada and the United States. The official Elder Scrolls Online site is the place to watch for the patch notes on the day.
