Visto: TV Show & Movie Tracker, an app for logging the series and films you watch, is currently a free download on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. The deal tip site New Mobile Life spotted the offer and lists the usual price as US$0.99. The App Store listing from developer Pedro Lanhoso confirms it shows as Free and says it is “Free for now”, with the app staying yours once downloaded.

What Visto does

The developer calls Visto a private viewing ledger rather than a social feed. According to the listing, it offers:

  • A watch board that opens on the next episodes ready to watch, shows you have not touched in a while and an upcoming timeline of air dates
  • One tap check off for tonight’s episode, and episode by episode or season by season tracking with a catch up prompt when you fall behind
  • One tap logging for movies, plus rewatches, ratings from 1 to 10 and short reviews, recorded with exact dates
  • A library split into three shelves: watchlist, history and the shows you follow
  • Stats for episodes and movies watched, time spent and activity over the years, with no streaks or badges

Recent updates added Siri support for asking about your viewing history and statistics, according to the version notes.

Where the show data comes from

This is the one detail to read before you start. Visto lets you choose TMDB or TheTVDB for film and TV information, or TVmaze for TV without a key. The listing says TMDB and TheTVDB use credentials that you obtain yourself under their terms, and that catalog access is separate from Visto. Anything you have already logged keeps working without a provider or a connection.

Privacy and your data

The developer says everything is stored on your device and works offline, with optional sync and backup through your own iCloud account. There is no Visto account, no sign in, no analytics and no tracking, and the App Store privacy label says no data is collected. You can import years of history from a JSON export and take everything out again with the built in full JSON export.

The listing says Visto needs iOS 26.0 or later on iPhone and iPadOS 26.0 or later on iPad. The download is 8 MB.

How to get it

  1. Open the App Store and search for Visto: TV Show & Movie Tracker.
  2. Check that the developer is Pedro Lanhoso and the button shows Get, not a price.
  3. Tap Get and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple Account password.
  4. On first launch, pick TVmaze if you do not want to set up your own TMDB or TheTVDB credentials.

How long it lasts

No end date has been given by the developer or by New Mobile Life, so the price can go back up at any time. The listing describes the app as pay once, with no subscription and no ads.

Who it suits

Visto fits viewers who follow several series at once and want a precise, private record of what they have seen without joining a social network. If you mainly want recommendations or to share lists with friends, a social tracker may suit you better.
