Pantry Snap Pro: Food Tracker, an app that keeps track of what sits in your pantry, fridge and freezer and warns you before it goes off, is currently free on Apple’s App Store. The tip site New Mobile Life flagged the offer on October 20, 2026 and lists the app’s usual price as US $0.99. We checked the App Store listing, and it shows the app as Free.
What the app does
Developer Robert Corbin describes Pantry Snap Pro as a local-first pantry tool for people who want groceries to end up as meals rather than in the bin. You can add food by hand, scan barcodes, photograph product labels and capture expiry dates, which the app reads with on-device text recognition.
The main features, according to the listing:
- Week Plan: builds a 7-day dinner plan from a bundled offline catalog of 799 recipes, putting the food that expires soonest first
- Rescue forecast: ranks urgent items by expiry date, storage location, category and priority, then suggests a short plan
- Batch plan: groups urgent items into routes such as cook first, prep or freeze, and hold shopping
- Shopping list: missing ingredients roll into one list, and the inventory can be exported to CSV
- Storage guide: compares pantry, fridge and freezer shelf life. The developer’s website says it covers 70+ foods using data from the USDA FoodKeeper
Privacy and requirements
Pantry Snap Pro does not need an account. The developer says inventory, photos, reminders and shopping lists stay on the device, with no developer-run cloud, advertising or tracking code, or third-party analytics. The App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected.
The app runs on iPhone with iOS 17.0 or later and on iPad with iPadOS 17.0 or later. The listing also names Mac computers with an Apple M1 chip or later on macOS 14.0 or later, and Apple Vision. The download is 34.2 MB, the interface is in English only, and the current version is 3.3.1.
How to get it
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Search for Pantry Snap Pro: Food Tracker by Robert Corbin, or open the link from the developer’s website.
- Check that the button says Get and that no price is shown.
- Tap Get and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple Account password.
The catch
Neither the App Store listing nor the tip says when the free price ends. Treat it as limited: the price can change at any time, so look at the button before you tap. We confirmed the free price on the US App Store, and prices can differ between countries. The listing does not mention in-app purchases or a subscription. The app also has too few ratings for the store to show a score, so there is little user feedback yet.
What it means for you
If you often find forgotten vegetables or past-date jars at the back of the fridge, this is a low-risk way to try an expiry tracker that also plans meals around what you already have. Because the data stays on the device, it suits people who do not want to sign up for yet another account. If you share groceries with a household, note that the listing describes no sync between people or devices.
